So I could pick up a kx100 for really cheap (probably under $400) but curious of any thoughts. The kid claims he's had it for 2 months and ran about 2 tanks through it. It won't start and I know that could be a million things but what gets me when I looked at it last night and put it in neutral it acted like it was in a really high gear. You could almost roll it but it was still engaged and motor turning over. When in 1st or 2nd it was normal, too stiff to even consider rolling without dragging the back wheel....
I don't know what kind of oil he put in the tranny and I also dont know how he was mixing his premix. There was spooge all over the place so he may have put way too much in and might even be why it's not running. When I pull the clutch it kicks over with compression but doesn't feel totally normal, like it's kind of tight. Before I looked at the bike figured it's going to need top end and it's just totally a beat bike. Best case it could be too much premix/oil in the cylinder why it feels like that? or maybe even from the tranny not doing what it's supposed to from car oil or who knows what?
Anyone seen the tranny/neutral thing before?

You seem to have problems everywhere. If it were my bike id want to go in and see everything. No way would i trust a bike like that on a track.
I did drain the oil when I picked it up (because I had to lay it down in my wagon) and the oil didn't look bad, no metal or water that I could tell. If I verify it has spark I'm going to put fresh gear oil in, clean the carb and get fresh fuel. It looks like someone redid a lot on the bike not long ago so maybe I'll get lucky.
