Wearing knee braces with femur rod

Was wondering if any of you guys wear knee braces after a broken femur. I broke mine 4 years ago and got a rod to fix it. I've heard that wearing knee braces increase your risk of breaking a femur and was curious of yalls opinions

I wear pod k300 and it recently saved me from a torn acl. I tore my acl and meniscus 3 years ago wakeboarding and I couldn't do any sports for 12 months. Broken bones tend to be around 6 month recoveries.
Sooo in response to your question idk if it safe for you because of your rod, but I prefer a broken bone over a ligament any day.

I wear my asterisks with my femur rod. Still don't want a blown out knee...

After dealing with two major surgeries, broken screws, bent rod, etc. I will say I'd rather blow my knee out anyday over the agony I was in for a year plus, I had my acl replaced and other tendons cleaned up and was 100% in about 4-5 months, or close to it and the pain level you can't even compare.

That being said I've never wore knee braces lol, minus the year after had knee fixed then stopped again I hate them, I just wear good knee pads.

Yeah I'm wearing fly 5 pivot knee pads currently. They seem to do the job
