2007 KX 295 review

What's up guys? Prior to the site restructure I had a build on here for my 07 KX250. Built it from the ground up exactly how I wanted. It took me almost 9 months but I never really got to post any updates. I won't list every goody, you can look at my Bike Check for all the parts. But I figured I'd post up a review for anyone considering a big bore. With that being said I did the Forward Motion 295 kit with head work and port and polish running pump fuel (their recommendation) at 4800 ft. I'll tell you I absolutely love it! To me this bike had a good amount of bottom and mid range but felt pretty flat on top. I opted for mid to top porting and it made a huge difference! The bike pulls nicely all the way through the RPMs. I can lug it which I tend to do late in a Moto when I'm getting tired, but as soon as I need the power it is there. I will say I had to get a jet kit because it does get pretty finicky when you change elevation. I've ridden this thing on a Sunday cruise on the single track in the hills and moto and the kit has its perks for both styles of riding. As you can see by the picture it is due for a clutch and this is the original clutch I put in with the kit. I am debating a Rekluse setup just out of curiosity on how it will pair with the motor but will most likely run this spring series on a DP clutch setup. Other than that I've had Zero issues. 4 races and a lot of practice days on it and I plan to do our 6 race spring series before I pull the top end apart. Moral of the story, besides being cheaper than an oem crank and cylinder this setup is worth it! I run the +25 class so displacement is not an issue, the power feels a lot better and I can take a few more Inside lines lol! Hope this helps anyone out who is considering a big bore kit!
