RK Chains for 125

Hello,
I'm in the market for a new chain for my 125, I was looking at the RK 420MXZ4, RK 428MXZ4 and RK 520MXU, what's the best one?

520 is the size that fits your 125. Get a DID, my 2 cents. Had good luck with renthal, but they are a little pricier.

And that's where I get confused. On their site it says that 420 is for 150cc, 428 for 250cc and 520 for 500cc. Why?

Go to RockyMountainmc.com and look at their Primary Drive chains. They out perform most at a lower cost and they also have a higher strength rating than most high dollar units.
And yes, your bike should have a 520 chain, if it is not an older 125. You did not state year or make of your bike.
Your old chain should have markings on the link that states what size it is for sure.

Unfortunately I can't do that as I'm from Italy. My bike is a KTM EXC 125 2014. I'll look at the markings, thanks

The RK Chain spec sheet is for consumers to have more information regarding the series of chain they are going to use for their motorcycle. This allows for riders to pick which product to use based on the chain specs. The engine displacement rating for each chain is listed because our RK Chains are used on a variety of applications. Each chain companies will have their own specs based off their chain machines.

To help answer your question, first you need to know what pitch size is on your motorcycle. Your 2014 KTM 125 EXC stock OE chain pitch size is a 520. Depending on what type of riding you are doing, you can choose from a Sealed or Non-sealed chain. Make sure the chain is rated for your motorcycle! If you are replacing the chain for the first time, I would recommend replacing the front and rear sprockets at the same time. This allows for the new chain and sprockets to wear evenly together. Putting a new chain on old used sprockets will cause the chain to wear out at an excessive rate and could cause chain failure.
