Help stopping smoking

10/19/2016 11:26am
Day 8 update, all good had no smoke today, cravings are still there but are ok to handle,
I'm currently applying for the green card lottery true eDV lottery.
so hopefully it will work out that would make it a lot easier and if not there r other ways to get there.

Hope to get the same amount of support for that eDV like i did with the smoking because you guys made it possible so maybe it could work twice.

I didn't read through all the replies here, but I quit a little over two years ago now. Bought a nice (like really nice) vaporizer and that was the last day I bought a pack. I found the easiest part about the whole thing was that the vape replaced my addiction. I found I liked the vape better than smoking. It didn't get rid of the addiction, just moved it into something less harmful. My dad did the same thing when I was young. He quit smoking and started running. Like a shit ton of running lol. You'll most likely have an addictive personality the rest of your life, so find something worthwhile to be addicted to. Something that will give you a "high" without the negative effects.

Oh, and I tapered off my e-cig juice's nicotine level all the way down to the point where there was almost no nicotine left and about three weeks after I got to 0, I just quit altogether. Took about 9 months of vaping, but I'm free and clear of both cigarettes and vaping now (weed, not so much lol)

I also found it helps to not think too much about how long it's been since you last smoked. Just wake up every day and say to yourself "I just gotta get through today without smoking." If you start telling yourself "you know what, it's been three months, I think I can have just one without causing any problems", you'll never quit. Take it a day at a time. It only gets easier from here.

Good luck bro, you got this!

Day 9, i got this although that is how i feel and think about it so i'm kinda happy, today was the first day i had no cravings so its moving in the right direction for me.
My wife is holding strong but has a lot more trouble with staying focused on things and has a hard time when she's in the car r at free moments. for me it was kinda easy because i was not able to move myself very well so it helps being injured when you decide to stop smoking Laughing Laughing .

I dont use any replacement product to help but i get your point in the head rush part, Did you notice that you came in contact with people that do smoke they smelled like an ashtray it seriously bothered me so much that when i've see some off my friends again that don't smoke i apologised to them for putting them true the smell al those years.

I smoked for 16 years, then quit for 5 years. Started again two years ago when I was going through my divorce. Gonna try to quit again on Monday. It`s so much harder to quit for a second time than it was for a first time. I`ve already tried multiple times. I believe my next time will be the one.Cool

To Moens Andy- DO NOT PICK UP CIGARETTE EVER AGAIN. You`ve done the hardest part. Day two to four is the worst.

I have an attempt previous to this i have quitted for about 7months and went out had a few drinks and was back at it.
So i'm staying away from the booze this time around.

I find it a lot easier now than i did the first time. Thats maybe why i doubted about it for so long to give it another go.
When i made the decision this time, my mind set was a lot more in it i was mentally done with it so maybe thats something thats making it easier this time i dont know, the only thing i do know is that i'm happy to be a none smoker for the first time in 9 years

The irony here is that I banged a lot of hot chicks when I smoked but 4mos after I quit, I met the girl who would ultimately become my wife.
The old saying "winners never quit kinda went out the window on that one!"

still no smokes??
10/29/2016 6:45am
I never realized how terrible it is going into restaurants or casinos that allow smoking until after my state banned smoking in all establishments. Now I go to my neighboring state, in a restaurant and even if not a lot are smoking the smell just sticks to you and your clothes.

Smoke free is nice man. Stay off them. And do not smoke when you drink. Just put a toothpick in your mouth and take fake drags. Slow deep drags. Of raw air!
10/29/2016 12:38pm
Yeah i'm still smoke free but i figured i should go to weekly update's because a day to day dialog gets boring for you guys and i figured you got some better things to do.

Day 17 and going strong i believe i won

Actually it's not an official win until you are able to do everything you used to do that made you fire up a cig. I found that I had a craving every so often for about a year. 6yrs later, I know I can never have another cigarette, don't want another cigarette and rarely, if ever, think about cigarettes. I don't miss the worry about whether I've got enough cigs or lighter fluid to make it through this party or this day.

Well Reded i see it a little differently everyday without a cigaret is a win for me, Thats what i tell myself at least. Everyday is a new win a new beginning and 1 step gained in a healthy live i've turned it around a lot i'm only drinking soda with my food all the time in between i drink water thats something i have not done in a very long time. I need to be healthy and sharp before we move to the US

Jamaica has an aggressive antismoking campaign....

Stay healthy and sharp once you move to the US. Because you'll be incredibly surprised. Not sure what the obesity rate is over in your parts but it's absolutely ridiculous here.

10/31/2016 1:53pm
Obesity is close to none. There are not many overweight people here.
I'm not a huge fan of fast food and i'm kind of picky on my food in general + i'm a very small eater in general best comparison is mc Donald's, we go once a month and i usually eat 1 regular burger and a medium chicken nuggets menu with a sprite as a drink and i struggle to get everything in.

That being said i'm a bit chubby because i'm just lazy with 3 kids and do not like it. I'm 5,7 and weigh in at around 156,2 lbs

And that campain with those crazy picture's on the packs is been going on here for 6years minimum so not a surprise for me.

We have the same campaign. Horrible images cover at least 2/3 of the pack+ a hotline telephone number where you can call for help to quit smoking.
