found a 2009 yz250f for sale for 1100 needs bar mounts, rear sprocket, chain, and throttle tube. Has new plastics, black wheels and runs. Not stolen that I know of. The guy is a local racer who needs the cash. I'm supposed to look at it later today. let me know what you guys think.

Depends what your budget is. But overall that is a good deal. Even if you put $500 into it, you have a nice bike for $1,500. So if you think of it like that... Great deal. Post some photos.

Be careful. Inbought an 09 crf 250 1600 about 3 years ago and I ended up having about $3600 in it after the first ride. But 1100 is a deal for sure.

I tried the whole 4 stroke thing after being completely done with Mx for over 10 years. I even tried it again last year with basically a brand new crf 250 it just isnt my thing. My original message to the OP was actually you get what you pay for I guess. I'm not against 4 strokes at all. They just aren't for me. If someone wants to ride a 2t or 4t that's their decision. Just time and time again those 5-8 year old 4 strokes show up on Craigslist dirt cheap and end up reflecting exactly what the cost is. More power to who ever buys that bike. I hope it is a good deal. I can just tell you my experience with a cheap one like that ended up needing a complete new head, crank, and stator assymbly by the time the damage was done after about 2 hours of riding. Don't get me wrong the bike ran great at the seller's house and even at mine. The motor just let go. I do believe the newer 4 strokes from about 12 and up are much better and the companies have came a long way with making them last.

For that price I would buy it and use some of the parts for my 2003 yz250 build and then sell the rest for parts and make my money backCool

It's a little more work, but you could buy that bike and just parti it out and get between $2500 and $3000 for it. I recently parted one out with a bad head and still got $2500 for everything when it was all said and done. It's a pain dealing with some of the knuckleheads, but you do get more for it that way.

Put some oem sprickets, and those attrax tires or whatever that are cheap. Cheap graphics with a monster logo and the calls will pour in.
