Pourcel was the better rider plain and simple. Barcia put down some fast laps but that does not mean shit if you don't finish the race. Thats what the Pourcel bashers fail to see.

Barcia will win a race or two but he will crash out of two or three races also. The kid is the next big thing in the lites but he will have to wait his turn for another yr. Pourcel has him covered for the 2010 calender yr.

good post RMZ819, i read somewhere barcia was the same reckless dirty rider in the amauters and now he thinks he can bring that to the pro ranks, well hes going to make many enemies and be on the ground alot. He will never run with pourcel in sx or outdoors , i hope pourcel breaks him mentally and shows him whos boss.

there are no gifts period.

barcia is very agressive but not dirty. pourcel was the only rider that rode dirty. the attempted take out on the start straight and riding behind him in the turn before the whoops. that being said i dont have a problem with any of it. but you cant say barcia is dirty, hes trying to get to the front, and hes willing to bump to do it. he hasnt been playing games and none of his riding looks like its "personal" to me.

i am a huge fan of pourcels riding style, his personality? not so much yet.

stroupe will get wins (plural) this year.

insane race!!!!

I guess I saw a different race. I saw an incredibly talented rider that normally

checks out - struggling to maintain a solid footing up front and, for a while there,

it looked like Metcalfe or whoever it was - might even put him back to fifth - with a few laps

left. Everybody up front was hanging it out and everybody was making little

mistakes here and there, so the reality is, that I'm not confident that Pourcel was

confident when he was fighting off Barcia and crowd, I think he was in panic mode

with the other riders able to get deep inside his helmet. I think he was fortunate that

things played out like they did and, his erratic behavior on the podium reflected that

he was truly shaken up by the upstart challengers.
i saw the race YOU saw rup. and im happy. i dont think anyone should just pull over for pourcel, or anyone else in the field unless they are getting the blue flag. throw the emig-fade out everywhere and do what you can to win. i enjoyed the block passing to be honest though. i saw the race live and then when i got home on tv. stroupe could of completley cleaned out pourcel...as barcia could of. just as pourcel could of cleaned them out too, they are checking up on each other and giving a little bump, there is no intentional punting off the track, and i think that really gets the crowd going. you should of heard the dome BOOO when CP checked up on barcia down the straight after the finish line...haha, those damn lites riders put on a HELLUVA a show. that was a great race. i wish stroupe didnt lose the front end. they would of battled to the end.

Pourcel has been riding 125s and 250s since 2004. This is his 7th year in the class, not counting when he was injured. 7th year.

Well I know it would hurt your brain to think, but give it a try anyway.

Great race, but I'm surprised Pourcel didn't let Barcia through earlier and wait for him and Stroupe to get at each other and throw it away...

This is close to the way I see it. I saw aggressive riding from both riders, but dirty from neither. Barcia is aggressive and willing to push someone wide or shut them down. I believe he understands that if you do that, it will come back on you when the other rider gets an opportunity. Or, you get away with it and beat that other guy from then on. Thats just how it works, right? Pourcel was forced to show he wouldn't just sit and take it. No big deal. I think Barcia will break him in the end if he keeps doing it.

As for the 'respect' thing. Give me a break. This is motorcycle racing. Any rider has the option to give another guy respect and it may make racing life easier for them as the years go by. At the same time, you are out there to race and go for the win, what difference should it make who is in front of you. If they leave the door open.. take it.

IMO, fans cheer for aggressive riding from guys they like, and call 'foul' when it someone they do not like. That's what this is all about in here (and should be), and why I wanted to see Barcia put Pourcel into the tread-head seats!

Awesome race!

Barcia rode just like this in the amatuer ranks...will it work in the pros? Who knows.

My questions is....where are all the Moss bandwagon fans at? Wasn't he being hyped to smoke everyone in the east class this year?

If I were JB I'd be very happy with both of the above posts as you could count the combined times they've been right about anything on one hand.

CP is a very calculated rider. Most races he can check out. When he can't, he typically rides smart and gets a good finish.

This track was sketchy in several spots and easy to over ride and make a mistake.

I do think the competition has decided to do "whatever it takes" to stop him. We'll see how it works out.
