I have no Yamaha support, but If I get top 5 at an AX would pay me contingency. Why would it be different for him? The only thing that I see being a problem is Yamaha wants stock colors on the bike.

Your right. This is off Yamaha's website.

Looks like they are right on the original color thing. Wasn't it Alessi that worked out their own contingency deal with Honda when they were on minis? I could be wrong but maybe Jason is doing the same type of thing with Yamaha. Its not like everyone wont know he is riding Yamaha's, they will, so it will still be good advertisement if he wins on the bike.

Im sure they arent switching because they have the Yamaha dialed and would need more time to get another brand bike up to speed. Enzo will probably still be doing the suspension and they will probably still have the same engine builders. Jason's bike will be the same as it was last year, except black. His bonus checks will come from YOT, Monster, Fox, Volcom, The Palms, and of course he will still make Yamaha Contingency!

well, you're wrong, because it's been a mix since 07 of DASA and in house & before that Frenchy was the motor guy I.E their own in house guy that left and now works for factory Yamaha.

Not sure where you've been getting your information but Lawrence's motors were full factory in 2008.. YoT got the motors from Yamaha and returned them without opening them up for for servicing.

BTW, Frenchy is a great guy!

EDIT-Someone who I respect immensely just called me and told me DASA was in fact supplying the motors this year. I stand corrected.

I'm sure j100 and Uptight know the scoop here , I believe what they are laying down.

BTW, I'm guessing Yamaha won't pay contingency for black bikes.....although they do sell black bikes in Europe.

He's spotting everyone dehydration and double vision and still winning titles, smashing skulls, nibbling ears, letting everyine sniff his finger after a lunch date with Kalisch's little sister and coming through the pack during 30+2's.

Gonna sell a lot of Monster too. Those guy's know how to get a return on investment.

Jason got factory stuff at some point in 08, but the rest of the team didn't.

either way, YOT has been mostly on there own.

I agree, they get some things here and there, but it's not the same set up as L&M, that's the major point here.

Okay, here’s the deal with the Yamaha of Troy race team. They are not going to have Yamaha support in 2009. They will be the YOT, Boost Mobile, Monster Energy, AM/PM team with Jason Lawrence and Nick Wey as the riders. Lawrence has done a Fox gear deal, while Nick will likely stay with his longtime sponsor, MSR. Supposedly, the bikes will be all black with big Monster Energy logos. That’s a good thing, because you just don’t see enough Monster Energy logos at the races these days, you know? Anyway, it sounds like it will be a pretty cool deal and I’m stoked the YOT guys will be around again this year. In the current economic climate, that is a major commitment from those guys and I applaud them for it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, not in your opinion if I'm wrong, but if I'm wrong with facts..

Few years ago YoT race manager went to jail. Since then every year we hear about how Yamaha is pulling the sponsorship from the YoT team? Right or wrong?

MXA did get it wrong!! Yamaha has said they do not have anything to do with fireing Jason, it was not their call. Go look it up. Yes Yamaha cut funding for the YoT race team and yes that has an effect on Jason. Yamaha not funding the team he races for is not the same as fireing him.

Simple question..Did Jason sign two contracts, one with YoT and one with Yamaha? IF he signed one with Yamaha, then I guess you can say they fired him. If he signed one with just YoT, then you and Jodycross are both wrong.

Yamaha pulling funding from a team is dissaray, not with just Jason, but from management on down, is not the same as fireing one racer.

You beleive in Jodycross so much, go back and look for the story on how Yamaha doesn't get to make the call on fireing Jason. I know I read it there too.

Bobby your fooling yourself thinking Jason won't sell a few Monsters. I'm a fan and because they sponsor him, I've been in bars where I've orderd Monster and Rum, or Monster vodka, just cause they sponsor him. Going school shopping this year for the kids, we found Volcom in Marshalls, and again because they sponsor him, my kids both got some Volcom clothes. Not saying I'm going out of my way to find his sponsor, but if I'm in a store that sells let's say Volcom, or Etnies, I will give them a look.

When's the last time you spoke to the owner of Troy Racing?

It is obvious you have an ax to grind with both YoT and MXA so keep on grinding......

BTW, I don't have to go look up anything.....
