I have read through 80 pages of a rather boring rule book and checked out numerous websites. When earning points for a pro license, I understand that you cannot combine 2 classes worth of points at an event. But can you race 2 classes and take the [b:241tm5ii]highest[/b:241tm5ii] points (finish) and apply that towards your 80/100 needed? Wardy, Breck, anyone??? Thanks.

You can earn your pro license twice in one season running two classes. If you get 25 pts in the 125 class and then get 25 pts in the 250 class you don't have 50pts towards your license. You have 25 pts in two different classes. Now if next week you DNF 125 but get 25 in 250 now you have 50pts in the 250 class and still 25 in the 125 class. At least thats how I understand it, hope that helped?

I think 912 is correct. Realize I wrote the very first amatuer to pro am advancement protocal. Whitelock almost immeadiatly changed it. BUt that was in 2003? Today I am not sure what it ended up with. but the fact that there is one is use makes me happy to see.

Now my question is with AMA selling off everything to DMG, will DMG honor the system or go back to "who you know". Of course Ryan Holiday can "sign off" any amatuer rider he wants to, and no point no nothing that rider can buy a pro am card. This is one thing that Ryan has the ability to do in this process. not sure if he has ever done it.

evsracer912, so what you're saying is you are compiling points for two different licenses? That makes it even more confusing (go figure) since nowhere in the rule book does it specify anything other than a pro license. I mean, it doesn't say, "go ride a 450 for a motocross license and then go ride a 250 for a lites license." It just says, go get 80 points and get a license.

I guess you could get your 80 points on either bike and just go get a license, then decide which class to race at the National level?

Thanks for the post. Wardy too.

You earn pts towards the same license, there is only one pro mx license. If you earn your license on a 125 you can ride either class at a national. However you cannot ride the bike bike class indoors, you must earn your way past the 125 class.

You get the same license regardless of what bike you get the points on. Also its not very hard to get.

Thanks. That makes sense out of a book that makes very little. <img class= " title="Laughing">

Yeah but 2 classes you can add them together for the same total are for example.

MX LITES A AND MX LITES A PROSPORT = one total

and

MOTOCROSS A AND MOTOCROSS A PROSPORT= One total
