Was just checking the Atlanta entry list and came across Meurs name. He's from Germany, and listed as riding a Suzuki 450, but not showing any sponsors. I don't believe he has raced in the U.S. previously. Perhaps some of the Euros are familiar with him and could provide some info on his background. He's definitely jumping in on the deep end of the pool. Best of luck to him.

Meurs is actually Dutch but has a German girlfriend if I'm not mistaken. Don't know his SX-skills, but it shure is a leap into the unknown.

When I Googled his name all the results came up in foreign languages, but I did see his home country listed as Netherlands in one or two places.

Good guy but he's having a hard time making money as a pro.
Qualifying for the night show will be an accomplishment I guess

he's dutch, surviving qualify will indeed be a huge succes.
Most of the times he didn't make it to the final in the German SX series.

Didn't he ride a 250 2-stroke in the German sx's? Hope he's had some good practice since.

Thanks guys. We've had so many new foreigners that it's hard to keep up with them all. He's signed up for Daytona also. How does he qualify for his SX license...former champion somewhere?
