Hello, first post here. I picked up a 2009 KTM 125SX last summer that's in good shape. So far all I've done is put some Mika hybrid bars on it and new fork seals as they were leaking bad. The bike runs great and I was told by the previous owner that the motor was modded pretty heavily but I'm not sure who did it or how to tell what all was actually done to it. Suspension was revalved but it feels pretty soft on the forks.
What's the consensus on this bike? Pretty good? Any must do mods?
Does any of the newer model plastic bolt up?
I've been out of the bike scene for 11 years now so any help on this bike is welcome.
I know one thing, the air filter system sucks.

I had the same bike and loved it. Its pretty hard to bolt on any more power, but an fmf exhaust system, proper jetting for your altitude, and gearing can help. I ran my gearing 13-53 and found it easier to stay in the meat of the power. The biggest improvement was replacing the cylinder and piston with new oem parts, this gave the bike showroom floor compression.

It has an FMF pipe and shorty silencer. It runs pretty strong. I'll have to check what it's geared at.

The shock feels good enough but the forks are borderline crappy lol.
