Check out the couple of minute intro to the Glendale Supercross Fox broadcast video.

The voice over says something about fighting while Fox shows a few seconds of Weston expressing his opinion to Friesie of his technique...

So let me get this straight, it's *bad* for Weston to express his opinion this way, but *ok* for Fox to use it to promo Supercross ???

What am I missing here ???

If the AMA feels a rider's behavior qualifies for a fine and a suspension then shouldn't the AMA also forbid others from using video of said incident to promote the respective activity ???

In this case, I think Fox should pay Weston some residual everytime they use that footage...

Ok. You got 3 groups of people involved. The AMA who govern sx and hand out penalties. Feld who own and operate sx and fox sports who are in charge of broadcasting sx. As far as the AMA is concerned that was totally unaceptable and a fine and race suspension were handed out. This is a buisness for Feld so anything that they can use to promote sx they will. Fox sports obviously are invested in sx as well so like Feld they are going to use that clip of Weston throwing down every chance they get. It helps draw in viewers. So basically the AMA is a governing body of racing and what goes on on the track. They have no say in how Feld or Fox sports handle their buisness on the advertising/tv side of things as it should be. It is a double edged sword though.
