I'm a Reed fan, but ...... This race RD was in control. He got his gap and seemed to comfortably mark Chad from there. I would guess he could have come through Chad if needed.

That is what I'm waiting for. Reed to get out front. It will be a monumental fight.

This race, Dungey still wins. Last week, if Reed got out first, he would have stayed there.

Weird too, Reed went from about 8th to 2nd in the heat and looked spicy and was crushing the whoops. He looked flat in the main.

Reed looked pretty good, but i think had Roczen and Eli been top 5 at the start instead of 10th I think Reed would have been off the podium....Reed and Dungey have been top 5 in the first lap each week...other dudes need to work on those starts...

I'd be a nervous wreck if/when this happens.

The whoops were 2 or 3 races old in the heat,in the main his bike didn't like them. In practice before they reworked them his bike didn't like em.

RD and the hondas both 250 and 450 looked good in them all day and nite.

What if RV came back?

What if James had raced and pulled the Holeshot?

What if Trey hadn't been turned in to a Hay-Bale?

What if it Rains at Oakland?

Huh

How do you figure it was a given Reed would have won in San Diego if he got out front first?

Dungey came from behind him on his way to the front and Reed never really challenged him or got close enough to show him a wheel while running in second place with an open track for several laps.

What did you see that I missed?

Reed also came from behind. Chad got screwed up by Pourcell who was running it in every turn. That's how dungey got by chad in San Diego.

Your thread title though.

Never saw anything like "Chad'd" before?

Is that short for "Chad had"?

Pretty cool of you to freestyle that shit Bro!

Yeah, he was ahead of Pourcel, but got passed by him and Roczen. Got into second on lap 3 behind Dungey. Never challenged him with an open track, in fact the gap between them increased from the halfway point versus the laps 3 through 9 when he got into second.

Great race and great first three rounds. Just don't see how anyone could call that a gimme for Reed when he didn't make up any time on Dungey when he had the chance.

Your last sentence is why.

He didn't make up any time, and RD didn't pull away. They held position. If Reed got to the front first he's more than capable of riding that out.

This week RD pulled out from Reed and at one point Reed pulled out from Eli/Roczen... But he also went backwards late with 3 mistakes.

So do you think Reed was giving it his all then?

Ya think maybe .... just maybe .... Dungey might have been able to turn it up a little if he was in second behind Reed running the same pace. Obviously Reed didn't on that particular night.

Dungey doesn't "Villopoto, Stewart, or Tomac" them when he gets out front with a lead, he does what he needs to do while staying comfortable. The other three would rather pound you into submission early with a large gap.

We will never know for sure though will we?

We obviously won't, but i'm more than comfortable saying he would have been fine. It was a pretty damn similar scenario to Atlanta last year... and the gap did actually get down to 1.3 at around the half way mark, went back to 2 and finished at 1.4...

Reed said he was at his max all the way around to make up for Dungey on the sweeper, but Dungey didn't pull away like he did this week, and he didn't look like it was an easy race at the end, he was hardly just riding around.

I'm ok saying this is not flash in the pan from Reed, he's getting better... We'll see what happens when the positions are reversed.

how about a chad reed hero sticky thread where all the 'if's' and 'even chad reeds farts smell like roses' can be posted instead of having 3 topics a day?

just to make it clear. chad is not half as annoying as his fans. guy is a legend but I don't think it has to be disgusted every day in some way. Grinning Grinning

Reed hates it when he gets "disgusted" every day!
