hi guys. i need someones help immediately. i am 5'7'' 145lbs and 15.5yo right now. i ONLY ride at tracks, and i plan to start racing after being comfortable with my new bike. i ride a 2008 yz85 big wheel with aftermarket exhaust on it and i am really big for it and need much more power. i ride for several years. i am looking to buy a new kx250f, sx-f250 or sx150 in a month. as you know, ktm has reduced the weight a lot on sx-f250 its just 220 pounds (98kg). i have a semi muscular body type. sorry for bad english, its not my main language. please help me, i will be replying you guys for several days.

Honestly, with your build (physically); I'd go with a 125. Don't mess with the 4 strokes yet. You have Yamaha, Husky and KTM to select from in regards to mass produced bikes. They all make competitive bikes for mx. You have plenty of time to grow into the 250f/450f bikes.

125 or 150 will be much more fun than a 250f especially while you are young and active.

That sx150 will be a great bike for you. If you plan on riding at a competitive level, such as amateur national events then go with the four strokes, there are more classes and opportunity with them.
If you are just planning on racing local races and riding for fun on the weekends then get the sx150.
The negatives of a four stroke is, expensive purchase price, expensive parts, more parts to break down, if it breaks down you will have to take it to a shop, heavier, and it can teach you a lazy riding style and line selection compared to the 2 stroke.
Advantages of 4 stroke, more classes to ride, lots of power, easier to ride fast.
However either way I would go with the KTM

dude get a 125... learn how to ride that first. you are young and it is cheap to maintain, learn how to maintain it and become a better well rounded rider before moving to the four stroke.

What do you want to do? Have fun riding or win races and try to make something out of riding?

If you plan on racing and want to be competitive then get the ktm sx-f 250.
The sx150 can win in the right class.

If anyone watched the GPs and remembers when roczen won the championship, he did the last round on a 125 he pulled through and got to 4th! 4th in the world championships on a 125. They are competitive, they aren't as easy or lazy to ride as a 4 stroke but as others said spending a few years on a 125 will make you a better rounded rider, will cost you less money and are alot more fun

as the majority have said... get a 125 and learn how to ride it before going to a four stroke from the 85... or just do what ever you want since cost and maintenance is not of your concern.

top ends for my crf250- $160

Your price assumes that you cange the valves every top end, which no one does
