I think the riders age and confdition of his knees may be a factor as well as height. I'm 6'6" and at 47 with worn out knees I find a lot of things more difficult than when I was younger.

This article lists Partridge at 6'3".

Partridge was probably 17 years old when the article came out. And his knees are shot too!

Anyone that can explain the different choices of pegs?
The EVO 3's don't need a fit kit I have been told but these options confuse me.

West W... I've got them and it was a while back but I believe it was the cleats?

The ones pictured are the ones you want to use, they offer the most grip.

Some MX riders are like little girls choosing outfits for their dolls the way they whine about how bikes look.

No, I don't want my bike to be any taller than it has to be. Kyle Partridge is 6'6" and the only thing he does is add a 10mm spacer to his bars. Sometimes my buddies and I will swap bikes when we ride and its already hard enough for them to use my bike Smile

I feel like there are definite techniques that are helpful, and definite bike set ups that are helpful, but I honestly believe that the other 50% comes down to whatever the specific person prefers. Two equally sized riders can still have dramatically different set ups depending on their skill so I just feel blessed that at 6'9" I can even ride a bike. I'm comfortable with what I've got and I don't think the ergos are holding me back.
That's exactly what I was thinking as well when I was deciding on whether to get the kit or not. A higher ride height doesn't seem like a good idea, it's simple physics, right? But I haven't found a tall seat yet that feels "natural" to me, so I took a chance. Thought I was probably going to loose performance in certain areas, I was just hoping it would make up for those areas in other places. Somehow it helped my riding all the way around. Not sure why or how but my lap times are noticeably quicker, probably a result of how comfortable I am in the bike.

I also thought about how Partridge and other tall guys that flat out book it on a dirt scooter (Jeff Loop, Benny Bloss) run basically stock setups. To be honest this was a major reason I ran a stock motorcycle forever; if they could do that then I had no excuses. However, I have slowly been realizing that the chances I ever reach that level are about the same as the chances we'll see Weeg at the premier of the new Star Wars, so I decided to try something new.

Thanks!
So what option is it?

Spiked cleat
Serated Pin cleat
Standard threaded cleat

First test of 2" extra high seat.
Will fasten this first and the add the standard seat foam and then a new custom made cover.
Sure it will look ugly but it is not a beauty padget Smile . Total cost will be $50 or so.

There you go! I was looking for my parts books but they're still packed away after our move. Yep, run the F3. I tried the F6 but they were ordinary, F3 are good!

12. Shifting is ok but perhaps I need a longer lever. Any suggestions what to get?

Hammerhead has a standard lever with longer or shorter tips.

You should maybe wait till you have the fastways in place because it might be ok but I have fastways and plus 10mm, with an Astars size 12 tech 8 & +10mm tip. Works good.

I'm 6 foot with a size 15. I expected your feet to be larger. I have a mate who is 6/7". He wears a size 18.

First of all thank you soo much for your efforts in this topic!!

I am 1m86 or 6ft 1 I think, but have a small frame and really long legs (always been good at long distance running without really trying). I have always struggled with basic riding technique, and although I've thought about the issue of my height compared to shorter guys, I've never done anything about....probably cause there are plenty of fast guys out there so what excuse do I really have?

This has me convinced. My hips cramp up really fast, I can't grip with my knees, I'm not built like Ken de Dycker, so I feel super unstable at high speeds. I also basically don't last longer than two laps at my local races, cause my arms are dead. People say ride with your legs and back and not with your arms...but I just can't hang on..so my arms take the grunt of the bike under acceleration.

One question. How do you decide whether you need stage one or two? Went on the website but couldn't find anything....surely it should be about how long your legs are with respect to your upper body, as well as, your total height? Basically I think I'm built like DV12...about 15 years ago Smile

Send them an email but I am sure the 1" lift is enough for you.

But I would not spend the money on this kit if I was your length.
Higher seat, bar risers and a higher handlebar, lower foot pegs should be enough for you.
You can get that for a 1/2 of the cost of this kit.
Have you tried other bikes?

Perhaps Steg Pegz can help you. Have no more information or review but look here

Yeah shoot them a email! They will be able to tell you which kit you would be best suited for, probably stage 1 I would guess.

Got a size 15 in Black Tech 8's from BTO. Was black or black. You don't get a whole lot of choice.

You know when a chick compliments you on your shoes, it's the size she means right?

Sure she's not scared? Fuckin Johnson and Johnson over here hunting women by clubbing them over the head...

Had two more rides with the kit this weekend and yesterday... I'm not trying to fit on the bike anymore so can just focus on riding... definitely have to pay attention to where i'm sitting, if you resort to your rear seat bias that a lot of tall people do you find with the taller bars it's harder to turn... Last night I've just switched last night to my previous risers... They are about a half inch lower and 1/4 inch more foward than the 2Tall... Rubber mounted too. Hoping it will help pull me forward and help with occasional early exit in rutted turns...When I sit where I should, the bike is unreal, carves and sticks... I've got ridiculously long arms tho, wingspan greater than my height so hoping this will pull me forward a bit, get me crouching more.

A couple of the boys have said i've picked it up heaps, which is great, still not going that fast but speed-wise feel more comfortable and like I can keep pushing more....

Have settled with the forks up at the 1st line and stayed with 107mm sag which was what my suspension guy said for the ohlins.... Pretty happy with it. Definitely has stopped the hip cramp, opened up inside rutted turns as an option and generally made me more comfortable. Four more rides until RCU too! Hoping to get a picture of RC on my bike haha...

Cheers mate!

Got the graphics re-printed to fit the new plastics... I had been given the 2012 Cycra plastic before and didn't even realise... The reprint was on a new printer, one of these ones that doesn't just do 4 colour, also orange and green ink. That orange in the KTM is so fucking bright, looks amazing!

Has anyone come across a new old stock kit? Preferably the air box extension? I found a kit but it’s missing the boot
