Honda 2007 CRF 250 X - Carb problems?

Edited Date/Time 9/18/2015 11:31am
Hi there, I am helping a friend get his bike to a rideable condition, So after going through it its mostly OK but after it has been running gasoline flows from the carb (the line at the bottom of the carb).. also.. upon further inspection the Gas (on-off-reserve) valve is not closing the fuel.

I just think its weird that gasoline will flow through from the tank to the carb and then out even if the fuel valve is open..

Any ideas or pointers to what to do next? best regards

It is normal for fuel to flow with the fuel valve open, fuel flowing out of the overflow hose is typical of a faulty needle and or seat. Maybe your float level is not set properly. Your petcock may also need new o-rings and or gasket. Also check all of your vent hoses for clogging.

Also if the float level is not set correctly you will overflow the carb.
