I don't think he will fade but he made some mistakes that pushed him out of striking distance from canard and bogle. if everyone stays up this moto id say 5-7th. bogle gave him a easy one that last few laps with the crash

If he gets a good start he's on the podium

Not with Dungey, Canard, and Barcia he won't. Nonetheless, his first moto was impressive. Better than RV's first go at the GP's. Shocked

What's the point of posting in the bench racing thread where this would have some actual value? Be realistic.

Imagine what he could do if he came over full time. Imagine what TC or Desalle would be doing right now... GP guys can haul anywhere. Simpson is prolly loving this soft brownie dirt. Haha

Well he came to do a one off race on a bike he'd never ridden before, with very little time to get used to everything and he put in his best non sand overall of the year. So say what you want about him fading or whatever, but the guy did a great job

You have to give the guy a ton of respect for coming over here and racing. The fact that he planned on doing it without support is amazing. None of the top U.S. guys would go race a GP without a red carpet being laid out for them.

Are you refuring that both of the Scottish riders were outstanding today considering their circumstances.

Simpson did really good, imho. Flying across the pond, riding a borrowed bike and little time to prepare and his fast laptimes were right up there. Would love to see more riders (on both sides) dart across the pond and do some races as their schedule allows.

Wins Lommel last week, arguably the hardest track on GP circuit. Flys halfway around the world and lands a 4th at unafuckindilla. I'd say that's a good week right there lol

Considering he can't land a factory ride the fact that in the last couple weeks only 3 riders have finished ahead of him on either side of the Atlantic I'd say he's getting the job done.
