Kegums isnt a sand track, its sand over hardpack , wierd surface, gets lots of square edged bumps.

It used to be sad, before they started mixing clay in.

Everyone is a sand specialist these days (Cairoli and Paulin) just to name a few and the Dutch and Belgium kids ride hardpack from an early stage (German ADAC & winter Spain) that being said,
the region he is from has it all hardpack, intermediate, sand, deep sand and even deeper sand lol
Berghem is 5 min from his home and Den Dungen 15 min

same as Hawkstone, not like it used to be.

Looked a fair bit rougher than the Nations

Could his contract just be ending with the rockstar energy Suzuki Europe team and him just moving up to the Suzuki world team to replace desalle? Or would that be the same contract For both teams? Seems a wired decision after the weekends result....

The Hoff looked like a real contender in that 2nd moto he was riding under pressure the whole Moto and didn't falter. Very impressive also the track looked more like hard/sand mix and not a true sand track

He's in negotiations I bet he will, stay he also is in good form at the moment and his fitness seems top class. Suzukimwould be mad to let him go. I'd let Desalle go before I'd let strijbos go

Which always begs the question: Why don't they ride pissed off the rest of the year?
The US too has its share of riders who only seems to be interested in stepping it up close to contract time...

let me get the facts straight, Coldenhoff is far from that FU type of guy Suzuki Europe is their MX2 program basically
he signed a two year deal one year MX2 and one year MXGP on a leftover / previous year (2014) factory bike

yeah he doesnt have the same bike as Desalle and Strijbos , you would expect after Desalle's injury he would get a factory bike but they didnt ...weird .. you would think they provide him with the best possible bike for Suzuki when Desalle was out...

I'm sure Coldenhoff will find himself a ride, I've been impressed with him this year. It's interesting that the Desalle to Kawi rumours are building momentum, I thought he'd be a Suzuki boy forever. Be interesting to see who replaces him, the favourites seem to be Van Horebeek and Guillod, but at Maggiora everyone seemed to think that those 2 would be riding in a 3 man team at Rinaldi Yamaha next year alongside Romain Febvre. Silly season in full swing

Everyone I spoke to at Maggiora said they'd heard that Febvre, Van Horebeek and Guillod will all be at Rinaldi Yamaha next year. It seemed pretty common knowledge even amongst us fans

i heard Marc de Reuver saying on sunday , van Horebeek could move to Suzuki and he wasnt the only one who mentioned it the last weeks ... lets see what happens Smile lot of rumours ... havents seen any confirmation
same as Everts taking over Suzuki Geboers , he has a contract with KTM up to 2016
at Maggiora was weeks ago , RV retired ... so Desalle option for KRT , Suzuki in need for other rider ... ???

There's not that many options if they want to stay with only Belgian riders.

Don't really understand where that "only Belgian riders" vision comes from. It just narrows your chances of reeling in a title. Like twelve years ago the Suzuki riders were Pichon and Coppins, wich turned out very good. From then on they had guys like Smets, Strijbos (twice), Ramon (only one who got a title), De Dycker and Desalle. Only Tanel Leok was a foreign rider the last couple of years, because he brought money.

I would've signed (or at least considered) guys like Nagl, Townley, Barragan, Philippaerts, De Reuver, one of the Pourcels, Frossard etc. a lot earlier when they were in their prime. Well, Nagl still is. What's wrong with a good foreign motocrosser?

But what about Van Horebeek? He hasn't been close to what he was last year, is there a particular reason for this?

Injuries. Broke his ankle in Argentina or Mexico last year and been struggling a bit. Reinjured his foot in April and sat out Valkenswaard.

Communication possibly. Don't see the reason for it really. Solid team with great resources. Signing anyone outside of Belgium shouldn't be a problem. Might as well just be a coincidence that they have ended up with Belgian riders. Time will tell. I do have a feeling Van Horebeek will stick around with Yamaha.

so looks like it all comes down to who will be in charge next year Wink
Just silly speculation on my part, who is the best possible wingman for 222?
