I talked to someone who'd know, who told me the race bikes that Ryan was riding over there didn't have the power of the practice bikes here.

There's been some additional tuning and equipment help headed in that direction from the U.S.

Then Cairoli beating Ryan on a 350 plus getting better starts is a slap to the face.
This pipe and fuel differences may be the reason why so little of the US guys go for a GP in Glen Helen. Just because it is expensive an difficult to set the bike up properly.
As for the tuning equipment from back home for RV, sure AC heard about that and imediatley switch to the 450 because he already shit his pants. lol

That's what race fuel and a less restrictive exhaust will do , how many years did the US run stuff in the MXoN that wasn't legal in Europe...

That' has often been a subject rumbling on the paddock on those weekends

1.It's irrelevant that the US bikes are faster, they're up against others running the same regs

2.The KRT team have a bike that's easily fast enough to win on the GP circuit

3.Nobody's "upped their game" in the GPs this year,Desalle,Nagl and Paulin have all been more than a match for AC at times, holding the red plate, even passing the guy.if anything it's AC that's been slightly below par

AC was the benchmark comparison for RV to go up against obviously but so many discounted these other guys, forgetting or not aware of how good they can be when fully fit etc

Have to agree with some of your point... Thinking about it, for those who followed the GPs all these years, Desalle, Nagl and Paulin were always there, winning races, overalls, and sometimes even the red plate (Desalle especially)... Nagl, back in factory KTM's days, was famous for being an holeshotter and unreachable in some races, Desalle alway being the consistent one with speed, Paulin also consistent with magic weekends... The difference was that Cairoli was an hammer, setting an unsustainable season's pace... This year basically we don't even have Paulin and Van Horebeek as legit contenders, only a fit Nagl and the usual consistent Desalle, who already did have some crashes though... What is missing most for this uncertain season is the usual Cairoli, maybe time is catching up, or the knee injury that ruined winter's prep coupled with 350 being a letdown are the causes...

Not saying it isnt true, but a full works series needing help from US equipment seems a little weird.

Villopoto has at last settled an age old argument between US and GP riders. He has single handed proved that the far and away best rider in the USA over the last five years is not good enough to consistently be inside the top 3 in GP's, get over it.
