Does anybody know what the tolerance's are for the clutch plates (fibers, steels) on the 2015 KTM 450. I checked the manual that came with the bike and it didn't have any information. I like to stay on top of the clutch plates and mic them every few rides to stay on top of them before they get out of hand and wreck the basket or hub. The plates are the same as the standard 2015 450 but I've asked around and nobody can seem to give me an answer on what they spec out at when they are no good.

If the plates are the same, can we assume the tolerance will be the same?

When your fibers get in the low 1.9mm (new 2mm) then it's time to replace. Or, you can shuffle around the different sized metals (add a thicker) to get it back to spec. I've run mine in the upper 1.8's and added a thicker metal to make up the diff. However, I usually replace the fibers when they get in the upper 1.8's low 1.9's
Ktm's approach of having metal on both sides of the clutch pack makes it hard to do any damage to your components.
I know this doesn't specifically answer your question, but this approach has worked for this clutch abuser.

Thanks. I appreciate the info. I'm a bit of a clutch abuser myself.

When you said you add another plate do you add a fiber or steal?
