Looking at a helmet to fit a small, medium sized head. I was looking at EVS and Troy Lee Design. The TLD helmets were so much money. The EVS's were cheeper but at the same time I like my head, and I want to keep it. So I'm not cheeping out on helmet. Any suggestions?

I have an HJC and it's pretty decent I would say. It's comfortable at least. Was a good price too, around 180$ I think. Very middle of the road.

I found this, the HJC website wouldn't work for me. How do you size your head up?
Best advice I have is to go and try lots of helmets on and find one that fits nice. You can then either a. Buy it from the shop or b. Order it online.

I tend to buy non current high end helmets for lower end price and can usually save $200 - $300 from the new model.

If it doesn't fit correctly you won't be happy or properly protected regardless of how much you didn't spend.

BTO has their '14 Fly Carbon for $160 ...
but again fit is everything.

Yes I agree, I always try them on first, same with boots. I can't imagine spending hundreds of dollars only to find out it doesn't fit or is uncomfortable.

I see people young and old wearing loose "it's comfortable, I like it this way" helmets from time to time and I cringe and try to point them in the right direction each time.

I have an HJC and I love it I haven't had a real bad crash in it just a few hits but I like the fit and design and they are pretty cheap too.

Yep, and some heads are more round, some are more oval, and helmets are the same way.
Some helmets that "Fit" me on the sides fit too tight on the forehead.

Best to go try some on. HJC is pretty common for shops to carry.

Thanks guys, I'm definitely buying a HJC. I have a shop right around the corner and I'll try on some helmet sizes and such.

The newer Thor helmets or Bell moto 9. I use both and I like them.
