I love the way the tone of this thread is, compared to some previous ones. Damn right she deserves respect for coming this close already. I'm rooting for her to make the next step and am glad most here are too.....

What is the typical rider count that in the 250 class at Detroit that show up to try and qualify compared to the other races? That would give some indication of her chances for this weekend.

The .06 of a second on a track the length of 6,231' equates to a mere 7.5".

I am gonna say she gets the 8" she needs this week to make the night show

The angle of the dangle is the heat of your meat times the mass of your ass. That's all the math you need to know.

Back on topic, Vicki earned her stripes the hard way and should have everyone's respect.

Well, there you go. She would have made the night show in the 450 class on her 250 by 2 seconds.
Is she eligible to give the 450's a try on the West coast? She seems in better shape then a good portion of the guys out there so handling the 450 would not seem to be a issue.

You can ride the 250 in the 450 class can't you?

I have no more respect for her than I do for any other privateer that never makes the night show. She is getting far more love and exposure than all other privateers combined. Also, she is getting more track time then the other privateers.

If she has extra track time and gets in over one of the other riders who didn't get that time, I will be mad. She doesn't deserve special treatment because she is a woman. The fastest riders should make the event, period.

So...let's look at this in a new way.
I believe it was '04, Vicki and her Dad were trying to be the first Father, Daughter to qualify for Loretta Lynn's.
Her Father was paralyzed in an MX accident.
At that time the only thing he asked for was support for Vicki (Not himself).
At 12 years old, even after what had happened to her Father, she was lining up to race the Girls Class at Loretta's (2 top 10's).
Career Highlights

2008 - Loretta Lynn’s AMA Women’s Amateur Champion [7]

2009 - TransWorld Motocross Magazine’s Female Motocross Rookie of the Year [8][9]

2011 - Won the gold medal in the Women’s Moto X Racing in the Summer X Games [10]

2011 - First Female to break top 10 in AMA Arena Cross Lites Main [11]

2011 - First female to qualify for AMA Arena Cross Premier class night show [12]

2012 - Won her second gold medal in the Women’s Moto X Racing in the Summer X Games [13]

2012 - Third consecutive gold medal in the Women’s Moto X Racing in the Summer X Games won bronze for Moto X Best Whip [14]

2014 - First woman to complete Ricky Carmichael's Road to Supercross [15]

2014 - Nominated for an ESPY Award in 2014 for Best Female Action Sports Athlete [16]

She's not getting rich at this, she does it because she loves it!
That being said, why wouldn't you cheer for her?
In case you are all wondering, yes I do have a female racer, she raced Vicki 3 times at Loretta's ('04-'06).

She won't make it as long as the whoops are close together.
