Being that yamaha has the best 2 stroke out why wouldnt they make one? I know they dont do much R&D on the 2 strokes anymore but I wouldnt think it would be to hard to manufacture one.

There is a 144 kit for the Yamaha that works great.

the numbers arent there for them to justify changing out the crank or putting bored cylinders in it......

I know they wouldnt sell a lot of them, just as they dont sell a lot of 2 strokes to begin with but they would be great for someone that likes a 125 2 stroke but with more power.

I actually rode a 09 yz 125 yesterday. That was a blast. I had a smile the whole time. We have a rhythm section that you can double, double, double, double or do what i was doing... hitting it double, triple, triple. The bike was jetted perfect and it was so fun to hit the gas and blip the throttle in the air... just a good Brap braaap brap

Thats the reason i was wondering why they dont make one. Not everybody likes four strokes and if you are out to ride and have fun that bike would be perfect. I rode the KTM 144 and that thing was fast, i couldnt imagine how good a Yamaha would be. I know that they have kits to make it a 144 but production would be way better...

Wasn't there something in the AMA rules about the engine having to be 125 from the factory then you were allowed to bump it to a 144. Could not be a factory built 144. Schoolboy 125 class comes to mind ,other than that with all these open class's they could build a 144 butttt then again you might as well buy there YZ250 and be done with it All there R&dDmoney is in the 4 bangers . Obviously they would make more if you bought there 125 along with the 144 kit.
