Hey guys I have a 2014 kx250f and a 2015 yz250f. I always loved Yamaha more than anything, but I ended up with the Kawasaki first. I have no complaints with it the bike is solid, but I do like the Yamaha better. I was going to sell the Kx250f and get another Yz for a race bike in the future. I know bikes can handle differently, but my question is how many of you have different brand bikes for racing and practice?

Though it is nice to have the same model bikes for race/practice it's not a big deal you should just as above ride on.

Depending on the level you are at my guess is your could put a ton of hours on that Yamaha between teaching and practice and have no issues. Sell the other bike and put the money back for a rebuild down the road.

Not that big of a deal really imo. I have a 15' YZ250 and an 05' YZ125, no practice or race bike for me.
I practice more on the 125 though, and the 250 is more for race.

Im my opinion, its all about what youre comfortable with. If youre more comfortable on one or the other, sell it and pick up a couple model year old version of the one you like. If you feel both fit your style good, and are comfortable on both, then continue what youre doing. Personally, for me, it doesnt make much of a difference. I have a 125, 250 and 450, and have enough hours on all of them, that i know what they are like, and how they are going to respond to my inputs. After a couple laps, im comfortable on any of them.
