CHICAGO -- A family member has confirmed that two people found dead inside a south side home Friday are the 57-year-old mother and the brother of Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson.

The victims were found unresponsive at about 2:45 p.m. inside a two-story white home near West 70th Street and South Yale Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood. [Map of Area]
The home was owned by Hudson's mother, 57-year-old Darnell Hudson.
Deputy Chief Joseph Patterson told reporters that a family member entered the home around Darnell Hudson fatally shot on the living room floor. That family member left the house to notify police.
When Chicago police searched the house, they found a man fatally shot in the bedroom, Patterson said. There was no sign of forced entry.
An Amber Alert has been issued for a 7-year-old boy who is believed to have been taken from the home. Police are looking for a white Chevy Suburban with license plate: X58-4859. Police said the boy, Julian King, is Jennifer Hudson's nephew. He is described as a black male with a medium complexion and brown eyes and black hair. He is 5 feet tall and weighs 135 pounds.
Public records indicate the Suburban is registered to Jason Hudson, who neighbors said is Jennifer Hudson's brother. Authorities would not say whether he was one of the two victims, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Police said they are looking for known a known suspect, William Balfour, who they said should be considered to be armed and dangerous.
Chicago police spokeswoman Monique Bond declined to elaborate. She said the deaths appear to be the result of domestic abuse.
A publicist for Hudson at her record label initially said she's not aware of any incident involving Hudson's mother. She didn't immediately return subsequent calls and an e-mail.
Access Hollywood reports that Hudson was in Florida at the time of the incident. She is now reportedly en route to Chicago.
Hudson became famous after appearing on "American Idol" in 2004. She went on to win an Oscar in 2006 for her performance in the film "Dreamgirls."
In an interview last year with Vogue, Hudson credited her mother to audition for the singing competition thatlaunched her career.
The singer, whose father died in 1995, described herself as very close to her family. In a recent AP interview she said her family, which includes older siblings Julia and Jason, helped keep her grounded.
"My faith in God and my family, they're very realistic and very normal, they're not into the whole limelight kind of thing, so when I go home to Chicago that's just another place that's home," she said. "I stand in line with everybody else, or, when I go home to my mom I'm just Jennifer, (so she says), 'You get up and you take care of your own stuff.' And I love that; I don't like when people tell you everything you want to hear, I want to hear the truth, you know what I mean."

The body of a young boy was found Monday morning on the West Side inside a white SUV registered to the slain brother of the Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson.
The body of a black boy, about 7 years old, was found on the 1300 block of South Kolin Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. The body had not been identified as of 9:55 a.m.

Authorities said the body was found in backseat on the floor of the 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban SUV registered to Jason Hudson, who was killed along with his mother, Darnell Donerson, in their home in the 7000 block of South Yale on Friday afternoon.
Authorities said the child may be 7-year-old Julian King, who went missing from the crime scene Friday. Police have been searching for the SUV since Friday.
About 3 p.m. Friday, the bodies of 57-year-old Donerson, Jennifer Hudson’s mother, and 29-year-old Jason Hudson, her brother, were found inside their home, police said. The shooting is believed to be domestic-related. Neighbors said they heard gunshots between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Friday morning, authorities said.
A family member found the bodies. The mother was found on the living room floor; the brother was found in a bedroom. The crime didn’t appear to be a robbery, police said, and the door to the home was not locked when the family member arrived.
Missing from the crime scene was Donerson’s grandson, 7-year-old Julian, who was possibly taken from the home in the Englewood neighborhood, police said.
An amber alert was issued Friday. Jennifer Hudson and her family are offering a reward of $100,000 for the safe return of Julian.
Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
