I did some digging on this forum regarding members who have had moto related shoulder injuries, and noticed that there were quite a few members who have experience with this.

so i just had my right arm done, I went in for what i thought would be a bankart/slap repair, but upon looking at the stack of paperwork, it appears that they did the bankart repair, slap repair, some rotator cuff work and a capsulorrography.

does anyone have any knowledge to the capsulorrography? from what i gathered from google, that is shrinkage of the socket that holds the ball in place. is this correct?

next, this sling is starting to bother my neck and opposite shoulder blade whether sitting or standing, or laying... its just a constant stiff neck feeling. i work a desk job,and have the option to sit or stand thanks to a veridesk i managed to get work to give me. does anyone have any insight regarding proper sling set up?

lastly, and i know that im way ahead of myself here, but this may help others immediately, so why not ask.
does anyone have any experience with any of the various shoulder stabilization braces on the market, ie evs, leatt, don joy etc? does anyone have any hints/tips regarding set up to them. I currently have an evs sb03 that was lent to me from a friend in an effort to get a couple more rides in before my surgery, but it seemed like there were a lot of set up configurations, and not a lot of guidance on how to set it up, and its probably easy to set up wrong, or in a harmful way.

all i know is, i still cannot sleep on my left side because of my 'loose' shoulder, it kinda slips out towards my collar bone. I know this is because of Motocross.

Clicking knee's also. I'm sure i aint alone on that

I am 5 months post op from my right shoulder slap tear repair, I unfortunately can't commnet on the first thing you were talking about. I do have a sling option for you though. I had a Cryo Cuff that surrounded my shoulder, it was ver comfortable and it had a velcro attachmnet that I could slide my arm into as a sling. It worked great and it put zero pressure on my neck. the cuff goes over your shoulder and it pumps ice water and air pressure through it, it also straps around the torso. Only downfall is it attaches to a cooler that carried the ice and has a pump on it for the air pressure. My cooler plugged into a wall outlet. I was able to disconnect to move around though with about 20 min of good cool water in it before I needed a "recharge". Once i was healed up pretty well I just left some water in the cuff and put it in the freezer for temporary icing situations. After a month or so I switched to the regular sling, but I kinda half assed that thing and would loosen it up or slide my arm out of it.

the sleeping was the [part of the tipping point for me. I had woken up several times to a shoulder out of socket, and then one day after a weekend with 2 scary crashes due to shoulder instability and a slipped shoulder in the middle of the night due to the resting head of my girlfriend, i decided enough was enough and booked an appointment! so far, i have no regrets! looking forward to the future... and spring time!

that cryo cuff sounds great. i have a similar one, by BREG, but i dont have the option to slide my arm into it, which is sort of a bummer. i have the don joy ultra sling which is a sling contraption with a spacer to keep my arm slightly in front and off to the side. the position of the arm is comfortable, but its cumbersome and puts a lot of stress on my neck/back.

I had the regular sling that just lets the arm hang against your belly. I kept it extremely tight and I didn't experience any neck issues with that either. Something else that might have helped me was when ever i sat down I took off the sling and just rested my arm on my belly.
