Hi, wondering if anyone can help me with this. Me and my mate bought 2 kxf250s a few months ago, both got them at the same time and rode them roughly the same amount of hours. The forks on mine are super hard and the rear suspension seems to kick up when leaving the lip of jumps. Where as his is a lot plusher and doesn't kick up when leaving the jump.


What I can't grasp is both bikes are identical and I can set the clickers both the same and my forks are still super hard. We have tried each others bike and both agree that the forks are harder on mine and the rear is kicking up. Can two identical bikes differ so much in the suspension? Not sure what to try next.

Another question is, I'm thinking of taking some oil out the forks. Do I just take it from the damping side on the SFF forks? Thanks for any help.

Yes they can if the previous owners did some changes. The previous owners may have changed the springs and or changed the amount of oil in the forks.
It can also be if the bikes are both new, but a bit more unlikely.

Sorry forgot to mention both bikes are brand new.

Sometimes the bikes are not assembled properly from the manufacturer. A local kid kept complaining about his 14 YZ 250F pulling to one side when he landed from jumps. When the suspension tuner took the bike apart he found out that one of the forks was not assemled correctly causing his problems.

I purchased a 1996 RM 125 brand new and they stacked my clutch all metal and then all fiber instead of metal fiber metal.

Maybe take it back to the shop but they probably will not help or know what the problem is. Find a local suspension to inspect it.

Rode a much rougher track at the weekend and after both of us riding the bike we both agreed it was unrideable. Hard to describe really but its like the suspension is moving up and down all the time when it is at the top of the stroke, almost like vibrations. Took the forks apart and it looks like there could be air in the inner cartridge so I've drained it all out and going to refill and bleed it before the weekend. Anyone known this before?

Check the install of your forks. If they are parallel or the tubes are pinched it will make them super harsh and sticky. It'll affect the shock performance too.

Here is a step by step on proper installation. You'd be amazed how many times this is the issue.
