With the injuries of many riders at the upcoming MXdN, I want to say Switzerland has a solid shot at a top five or even podium this year. Guillod, Tonus, and Seewer have a solid shot imo. Guillod and Seewer have shown potential at times this season, running inside the top 5, and Tonus had his great early season run including being picked up by PC for next season. Who's your dark horses for the MXdN? Cool

Switzerland is my pick too. All three are top10 material and with a little bit of luck I would not be surprised to see them on a podium.

It depends what you mean with dark horse. Switzerland was 9th last year, I expect them to be top 10, maybe 5th this year. Sweden was 29th last year and they have a tiny chance to make it into top10, I expect 15th.

My bet is.

USA
France
Belgium
Italy
Great Britain
Switzerland
Canada
Australia
Spain
Holland

So if my results is correct, Canada will be the dark horse since they finished 23rd last year and all the other teams where around the same spot.

I dont see a reason to put Spain and Holland infront of sweden, and I miss germany.
Schiffer is good in the Sand, Ullrich had some top10s and a 4th and Nagl just went 1-1.
otherwise it sounds good

I do wish and believe there is a small chance for Sweden to get a 10th place finish. Just not sure what damage Noren can do if the track gets rough. Ken Bengtsson, replacing Eddie Hjortmarker is a great sand rider, not sure on his confidence riding against the top elite riders of the world. Filip Bengtsson will do great, expect at least one stand out moto.

I'm not sure about Germany, Nagl is an excellent rider, nothing to complain about there (but he can have some off days, also very good days like yesterday), Schiffer is solid, did an awesome job in Lommel. I'm not so sure about Ullrich, had som really bad motos last year.

I put Spain up there just based on Butrons starts. Holland can do some damage too if Coldenhoff gets up to speed and De Reuver has a solid day. At least two teams will get top 10 based on other teams mistakes.

I'm pretty optimistic about germany. Ullrich actually beat schiffer, he won the german series last weekend with 1 race to go. Plus he's an awesome Starter. P6 is my guess.

Didnt know hjortmarker is out. What about Lundgren? Hess probably your 250 guy for the next years

They switched Hjortmarker with Ken Bengtsson after the previous round of the Swedish Nationals. Hjortmarker had bike problems and a bad day. Ken had a good day as usual. Kens team manager is also the manager for the Swedish team going to MXdN. There's a lot of speculation and I find no need do go further in to it. The decision is done. Although I think it's unfair to Hjortmarker.

Lundgren is on paper our best choice for MX2, but he's been injured most part of the season. Just been back on the bike for a couple of weeks. I think it's the right decision to send the riders that's been healthy and riding all the races.

For every year we seem to have more riders to choose from and that's a really good thing. Sucks for the guy that did'nt get the spot but good for the sport and the competition.

As individual riders go, I would say Tommy Searle could surprise a few people. He rode his socks off there last year and so clearly likes the circuit - also seeing him back on a the 250f will be interesting. I think he'll be comfortable, perhaps the next best 250f after AC and JM?? If that goes right then team GB as a whole may be able to actually deliver this year as a team. Usually something goes wrong though. Other than that, as mentioned loads already; Switzerland are a significant threat this year.

Darkhorse would be Tomac for the 1-1. IF (big if) the "Millville" Tomac shows up, he's going to be standing on top of a stack of European bodies at the end of the day.
