CL: 2001 KX250 - What's it worth?

I found this ad on Craigslist. Anyone got a better guess at what it's worth? I haven't had a chance to go look at it yet, but NADA says about $700 low and $900 average.

I haven't had a MX bike for almost 15 years, but have ridden trails for the most part on my WR450 during that time. Looking forward to a Winter project if the price is right.

The bike sounds like it has been neglected. The value of 2 strokes is going up, but it sounds like this one may be one to walk away from as I suspect it needs a lot more repairs than listed. ( Unless you can get the price way down.)

Id offer $700. Sounds like you gona dump atleast $5-900 just to get it in decent shape..

in Canada that wouldnt be too bad of a deal the cheapest you can find 2000 and newer kx250s here is about $2000. that bike does sound like a bit of a project though

I'm going to low ball him ($500-600) even if he doesn't want to be lowballed.
Just like deltadestroyer said, I'll have to dump some money into it anyways just to make it to the average NADA price.

Be nice when you offer the money, it's unlikely it'll sell based on the ad. After making the initial offer, you can come back in a month and re-offer it, even though the ad is no longer running. It's only been on there 3 days.
No phone number, only email. No pictures. Description that makes it sound really bad.
