clutch perch problems

hey everyone, i feel like an idiot for asking this question. but the other day my bike fell of its stand and shattered the clutch perch, so i went on ebay but a cheaper one that claims to be oem specs,( which it looks just about the same). installed it and now the clutch doesn't work . I've messed with the adjusters and can not get it. could this be a wrong perch. or am i possibly missing a part? also it will not free roll with the clutch pulled in
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

yes the clutch is tight throughout the whole stroke

The little cable holding piece is proly striped allowing the whole unit including the cable itself to slip inside the adjusting knob. it will feel like it has tension, but it The holding piece, that the cable itself rest in can and does strip. The outer threads on that piece will sometimes strip if you keep your clutch pull too tight, and when it strips, what happens is youl pull your lever in and the whole holding piece with the cable at the end slips inside the adjusting wheel(knob) making it feel like the clutch has resistance, but really is pulling no inner cable..
It's happened to me a couple times.

Take your adjusting assy apart, I bet the holder or the threads inside the adjusting wheel are striped.

No, I'm suggesting you may need a new spindle and guide.
But you'd proly be better off just buying a new perch assy. But I would check first just to be sure. Look for stripped threads.
