2009 Yamaha 250f it's never had a new clutch. I use Motul 300v and change the oil about every 6 hours. I'm also a Novice racer.
First lap of my 4th moto this weekend I entered some small rollers and my biked reved to the moon. I thought I hit neutral only to find out my clutch was shot. There was zero tension on the lever. The cable is still in good shape and engaging. It was 95 degrees outside and the last moto, so what do you guys thing is the issue, replacement parts, and what caused this? I am taking the clutch out tomorrow night to see what the heck is going on, but would love some feed back so I know what to look for.

I did forget to say that I tightened the quick adjuster and after several turns the free play did start to go away.
You could have a broken clutch disk ( # 7), a bad bearing (#17 or # 23) or the nut ( # 15) may have backed off.
Also if your oil was low you may have fired the clutch disk.
