I wonder if Slater skins and Blue Buffalo realize a name on the shroud or the entire bike that will overheat and make the rider uncomfortable doesn't bring in sponsorship dollars in this sport. At least the type of money to run a race team professional or to be able to compete against the big teams lke Geico, Star, or Pro-Circuit.. If that was the point, these slater skins would've been on bikes back in the 90s when Mitch Payton tried the idea.. Shroud Exposure will do nothing to bring in big money to be able to compete at that level.. Great to see them help a privateer out but to bring in big dollars and build a race team. NOT Gonna Happen... Just a dream for Mr. Slater... This aint Nascar.....Just my opinion...

I wonder if you realize Ryan Zimmer's borrowed scooter (that people we bagging on last week for the way it looked) just went through two 30 minutes plus two laps WITHOUT overheating. Ryan also didn't suffer any adverse aero effects from the Slater Shield like a few Vitards predicted.

Shroud Exposure will do nothing to bring in big money to be able to compete at that level.

Just to clarify this is also an opinion correct? It certainly isn't a statement of fact from where John Slater sits. You are welcome to your opinion and that is fine with me you that don't dig the Skins or the Shield but please don't fabricate untruths about overheating.

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter what people say, all I know is that Blue Buffalo paid for all of us to go racing this past weekend at arguably the most prestigious track in the world with tons of History. Ryan and his dad put a borrowed bike together with a lot of help and rode hard for 30 minutes with no heating issues no shock issues no Slater Skins issues no Slater Shield issues so we can all put that non sense to bed now,

We are working on a 2015 program now hopefully it works out
I personally would like to thank Blue Buffalo, Tyler King for reaching out to the Zimmer's, Ryan and his dad Jeff, Bill Dill at 3D raciing for his Truck, Fred Vertucci at VPE building the motor.

Ryan rode the wheels off his bike, here is trusted friend waits for his Blue Buffalo Dinner

John-Well said. Next time Andy needs food I will pick up Blue Buffalo instead of Science Diet. EDIT Wasn't Fred Vertucci a fast New Englander back in the day?

Tom-Thanks for the nice picture. How have you been?

Ryan and I want thank everyone that helped us have a successful weekend at Unadilla. We really put this thing together in 2 weeks and I couldn't be happier with what we did. People to thank

1. Blue Buffalo (Dave)
2, Slater Skins (John) entry fees, license, and some gas
3. 3D Racing (Bill and Tommy) Awesome pits, Motorhome, pressure washer, and dinner
4. Todd and Tracy Brown hotel and food (Huge help)
5. Carl and Buddy for letting us borrow their bike to race because we didn't have a 450
6. VPE (Fred) sending a head for our motor and tuning it at the track
7. Cliff Fegert for letting us use his trailer
8. Doc for letting us borrow his Yoshi pipe
9. ICW (Brett) Letting us borrow some radiators and stands for the race
10. Fly (Max) hooking Ryan up with some nice gear, Always their for Ryan we really appreciate it.
11. Scott (John) Goggles always have clear vision Thanks
12. Bell Helmets and DVS (Pat and Dano) Helmets and clothing thanks again
13. Triangle Cycles (Rusty and O'neil) Always there to help us
14. Liquid Performance (Connell)
15. SOB (Ryan)
16. Hog Heaven (Richard)
17. Moto 95 (Steve)
18. Pro Action Suspension (Hey that is me)
19. Samantha (girlfriend) tough girl she has travelled all over the country with us and knows only to pee when the gas gauge is on empty.

It takes a village and we are very thankful. We through a borrowed bike together in the garage in 2 weeks time and went and raced with the big boys. I am proud of Ryan's effort considering he had only ridden 5 times after his broken back. 28 and 21 for 24th overall, not too bad. We are looking forward to SX 2015.

Thanks,
Jeff Zimmer
I totally forgot to thank Pirelli for the tires that helped Ryan get such good starts last weekend. I truly appreciate the hard work Tat and Doug have done for Ryan throughout last years Supercross season and at Unadilla. These are great guys with even better tires.

I had the pleasure to meet Ryan and his girlfriend at camp boom diggity. All I can tell you, he is truly a great guy! He would do anything for anybody. He was leading the pit bike race by half a lap, and let a dad win, because he didn't think it was fair for him to win. I'm was so happy for him, when I seen this deal coming together. We truly need guys like this in our sport!! He races because he truly loves the sport! I hope things are on the up swing, and deals come along so we can see him on the track for 2015 SX. Me and my son will be cheering him on!!!

Thank you, Ryan had a blast at Boom Diggity. He hopes to be invited back to teach again. He really has a passion for teaching younger riders and has a gift for connecting with them. I am very proud of the man he is becoming.
