CP is definitely a tough rider for sure but hard to feel sorry for CP when we have bros like this devil dog. If I ever meet this bro I will buy him a 40 a steak and some titties at Christie's.

So since this thread is about CP and he is French and the French did play a big part in helping us win our independence-here is a beer for CP and all the other French moto heads-Happy Fourth of July.

agree with you 100% - he is improving every week and looked very good last weekend. Cant help but think that he's just easing his way back into it until he is fully confident in himself and his bike set up. Wouldnt surprise me at all if he just drops the hammer down one week and absolutely destroys everyone! Hopefully it will happen soon. Love to watch him ride- he's so smooth and effortless on the bike, awesome technique.

agree with the guy about 450 supecross too- i think pourcel and 450 supercross will be a perfect combination! he's got to be a title contender right away if he's on a competetive bike when he moves up

its also during the cooler evenings, on a much smoother track! no heat/ rough gnarly track for 35 minutes to deal with! i think CP would be just fine in 450 supercross- and i think we will see more from him as the season goes on. Looking forward to seeing him at unadilla, he goes really well there

He came pretty close to winning the championship a few times already and that was AFTER the injury.

I think the problem is the time he spent away from racing, the raising of the bar as it were (competition keeps getting faster), and a new bike.

I do feel bad for him a little. I think he is good for the sport, despite his idiosyncrasies. Hopefully he can take it up a notch here in the second half of the series. (I'd like to see Marvin step it up too).

the raising of the bar , competition keeps getting faster , is wrong IMO, do you really think bagget and martin , web , are going anywere as fast as RV and BT101 in 07 , or dunge and cp were going in 09 , or trey in 10 , I think the cp from 09 or 10 , would be winning a lot , heck he ant to far from that now , after more than a year off and another big injury , bikes have improved doesn't mean the riders are getting faster and faster, like this year its prob slower than last no KR ,or ET , no offence to BB, martin or web , but they still a hav a good bit to go to be looked apon as the next RV,,RD ,JS7, CR ,
dont know about them not going anywhere near as fast, but i dont think they are going FASTER than rv and bt in 07- those guys were going just about as fast as you can go on a motorcycle! i would say the same about RC and bubba when they went head to head. i dont think the top guys now are going any faster than those 2 were then- there is a limit within the laws of physics! lol

and the bikes arent getting that much better either- dont beleive all the manufacturs jargon!

And you know this how?

At Southwick a few years back CP was the only rider that kept his wheels on the ground during a second moto no jumping flag dealio. I found him after the moto and told him I thought that was great he did that to which he replied "that could have been me laying at the bottom of the hill."

Just wait... He'll be fine in SX. Always has been. Banging bars in fourth gear wide open is a lot different than just block-passing/being block-passed in second in a thight corner.

Just one thing : your pic is a bit disturbing to me, even if i understand it is a tribute, and rightfully so.

I don't know. To me he seems a little tired of his trips to hospital, I'm not sure his last one during Bercy (where he didn't do that good before his crash BTW) didn't break something in his head a little bit more.

But before knowing where he's at sx wise, there's another problem, he needs a ride. And we all know he wants a good one, with free hands to do things his way etc... That's a tough package to found and again tougher nowadays.

With this kind of results, he won't have issues finding a good team. And i guess he NEEDS the money right now.
As for Bercy, he came totally unprepared, on a new bike he didn't even try to set up. That won't be the same come A1.

i know its early to speculate but i wouldnt be surprised to see CP on reeds team in 450 sx next year! especially if he keeps improving outdoors at the same rate he has so far

"he came totally unprepared, on a new bike he didn't even try to set up" I guess all the french motocross community knows the story. Typical Christophe Pourcel, lol...

Anyway, if he is on the starting line comes A1, it will be intersesting to watch, but I'm more reserved than some of you...

And BTW I have to say, that I've been really disappointed by his riding style on the first few outdoor races and I have to admit he was more Pourcelesque at Muddy Creek, he said he found new suspensions settings during the week off, seemed to work quite well...

I feel bad for him or anyone to have to go thru any kind of injury like that for sure...but im sure when he checks his bank account balance it makes him feel pretty dam good...hehe
