So, I may be relocating to Utah and was curious what the moto scene is like. I know of Caineville and the other awesome riding areas but i'm a moto guy (but i will be taking advantage of the awesome desert riding too)

I am probably going to be living in or around Salt Lake and or Provo and was wondering what tracks are worth going too. I dont mind driving a few hours to ride a good track...

ROFL,
There are several good tracks around the Salt Lake area. My favorite track is in Ogden (OCA). The major series in the area are Wild West and RMX. Please visit links below for additional information:

I raced there a few summers ago and have since moved back home to NY. I lived in Provo. To be honest, for tracks and racing it was tough. There was a track in Mona called mountain west I think and it was 30min from Provo. May have closed though. Not sure, but that was a decent track. Then 215 track near Jordan River OHV. I liked that track, but the state didn't renew their lease. So the OHV state run tracks are still there. Wanted to ride those but never registered my mxer to go. That track was near the SLC airport. Then you've got some further out. One in Delta that was pretty good about 2hrs south from Provo. Another up in southern Idaho about 2.5hrs from Provo called Cache valley MX. That was my favorite in the Rmx race series. Others mentioned Ogden track. The national track out at miller motor. There is another track out there called rocky mountain raceways. Looked nice. It is the track in the rocky mtn mc commercials. They used to run Friday night races, but I never made it to those or rode there.

Overall, some good races and some good tracks. I notice a lot of the Utah guys get into more off road and desert. Seems like there's a lot of land to explore. I didn't get into that much, but definitely an option. I did some mountain biking down in a place called Moab. Coolest place I've ever been.

Thats my take on Utah MX. Now I'm back to where the soil is nice and loamy up here in NY. That's another thing, its hot, dry desert. Good luck.

Don't worry about them. I am in the same boat as yourself and have not had much problems with the LDS crowds.

If you do run into the missionaries just tell them that you are about to down some brews, smoke a bowl and tell them they can join in on tag teaming your girlfriend. They will just turn and run away Laughing

Don't listen to the horror stories... Utah is a great place to live, ride, and race.

ive never heard anytthing "Bad" about Utah, other than the fact the Mormons tend to stick to their own kinds.which is fine by me.

Me and my buddy Jackson raced quite a few times at a track under the power lines in Ogden. That was a pretty cool place if I remember right. But that was mid 80's to 90's early. Ran once up on powder mountain on an 80.. that was a wild weekend..

You should also look into the USRA series (www.usraracing.org).

Between WildWild west, 4corners (I think that is what it's called), RME series, etc. there is a lot of racing going on across the state...

You can also join the forum at www.motoutah.com, it you want to hook up with riding buddies.

There are tracks in Ogden, SLC, west valley, miller motorsports park, price, st george, cedar city, Monticello, Mona, Moab, plus mesquite nv has a track, vernal...

Lots of tracks they just aren't very close together...and not all of them are maintained during the week (but have free practice anytime you want to ride).
