How is the Golden Boy gonna make all of America feel safe against terrorism if you can't walk down the sidewalk in Chicago? His hometown.

I live in the south burbs of Chicago. I own a few rental houses around the area. I ran an ad in the paper for an available house for rent. I have women from Chicago begging me and trying to bride me extra money, over the section 8 that they currently receive, to live in the burbs. Families from the city are FLOODING the south burbs for safer neighborhoods for their children to live in. The more Chicago tries to crack down on dangerous crimes, the higher they numbers climb. They have NO CONTROL over whats going on. There are even talks now of Illinois Guardsmen coming in on the weekends to patrol neighborhoods.

Most of the time, little children get caught in the crossfire. What kind of animal shoots up neighborhoods with kids all over the place?

Funny thing is, if Obama becomes president, he still won't be the most powerful person in the city when he visits Chicago...

Don't you think Blago and Daley have more to do with this than a senator? I dislike Obama's policies and all, but I'm not gonna throw him under the bus for this...

Of course they do.

I guess we better hope for Obama to become president, so the animals calm down.

Why didn't Daley think of that?

Nearly 125 Shot Dead In Chicago Over Summer
Total Is About Double The Death Toll In Iraq

CHICAGO (CBS) ― An estimated 123 people were shot and killed over the summer. That's nearly double the number of soldiers killed in Iraq over the same time period.

In May, cbs2chicago.com began tracking city shootings and posting them on Google maps. Information compiled from our reporters, wire service reports and the Chicago Police Major Incidents log indicated that 123 people were shot and killed throughout the city between the start of Memorial Day weekend on May 26, and the end of Labor Day on Sept. 1.

According to the Defense Department, 65 soldiers were killed in combat in Iraq.

Good luck, Daley tells the Feds to fuck off when he wants to take over an airport, too!

According to this comparison I would say we would be much better off dumping 10 billion a week into Chicago then.

Thank you for saying this. It would never happen though since we keep better track of where money goes in our county than we do for the Iraq toilet.

I'm still seething over the twelve BILLION in cash we shipped to Iraq that disappeared.......

I have to ask...
how the fuck can they POSSIBLY know "we air bombed this place, and didn't kill a single bad guy, but we killed 32 civilians"
Impossible I say.

If they CAN know that shit - they should be able to figure out which guys in the cities are "disguised bombers"... unless they just like seeing American soldiers blown to bits...

I imagine if they had the capability to tell things like that, things would be done a little cleaner. My guess is that somewhere along the line is just talking in guesstimate generalities.

I work down there!
I've ridden my bicycle through the south side (where being white is a sin)... of course it was in the middle of the day, but you could feel some tension.

You gotta know where to go - fo' sho'.

Great gun laws in place in Chi-town. Only the cops that kill their wives yes wiVES, or beat the shit out of bartenders are allowed to carry guns. I know Daleys security carries guns, but average citizens don't need a gun only the politicians and cops who are the real problem.

If we dumped as much money into chicago as we do into Iraq, do you think that the murder rate would go down?

I mean, how much are we paying the militias in iraq to play nice?

Maybe we could do the same with the gangs over here.

I don't care if it would have zero impact on the murder rate....I would rather see the money the US is borrowing to flush down the toilet in Iraq be spent in OUR country on OUR people.

I think it is a crime that 17K plus soldiers have lost limbs fighting over there. Please tell me how the US is safer...please tell me how it is worth to our soldiers their lives are changed forever....

People get caught up in politics and forget the US left a huge armory unguarded and this is where most of the explosives for the IEDs have come from....to make matters worse the twelve billion in cash we shipped over and is unaccounted for has been use to fund attacks and purchase explosive IEDs against our troops?

Throw into the equation we sent out troops over there unprepared without sufficient armor plating for themselves and the vehicles and you've got the recipe for a clusterf*&k of epic proportions.

BTW, who's idea was it to get us involved in Iraq again?
