Laughing 900? Holy shit! That's obscene!

Did you spec any trans for it? If so, what do you know about what the trannies can handle?

Thats a 1400cfm throttle body sitting on top to feed air to that monster....no to the trans, I just did all the machine work and most of the assembly, I thought I had a picture of the crank on the balancer so you could see how light the bob weight assembly was, but I dont....Like others have said, a nice 4L80 can handle a good amount

My 5.9 Cummins straight six will put out 400hp...Pop's set it at 300 before he sold it to me and I have almost looped it out on the wet interstate a couple times.....the drive train won't hold up to 400 hp so I really don't want to go there... I need rubber-band tires.

I had a juiced Powerstroke that was over 400hp. Not interested in the diesel thing anymore. They're way expensive and not cold-weather friendly. Heck, last night was single digits, and today isn't much better. A gas engine will be fine for me, and I'm looking over 500hp.
Key word, powerstroke and cold weather.

My buddy ran a twin turbo set up on a stock 5.3 bottom end with no issues. It was 8-9 psi of boost and would embarrass alot of cars. I think it was stock cam and a light port job. I can ask him, but he liked it other then the rear end didn't like it nor the trans even after it was beefed up.

4L80 I'll keep an eye out for. Saw a 65 on the boards for sale, but that likely isn't enough. I'll search to find their max-torque capabilities. I will be using this thing daily, so it needs to be dependable. 900hp I don't need, though. I'm thinking if I can access 600 with a decent, dependable pull down low, that'll be more than enough. For some reason I feel like I should be looking at a manual trans, too. I would like to get an electronic set-up that I can easily switch fuel mappings where necessary.

The only thing great about that Powerstroke was its engine. I had a Banks kit on it (turbo, exhaust, aftercooler, trans and fuel modules). If I remember right, it was pushing just over 400hp. But, the rest of the thing was the Fucked Over Rebuilt Dodge, all the way. It was like having a beautiful, perfect set of boobs on a fat, ugly, stupid woman.

Here's a stroked 5.3L (383CID after mods). They claim 800hp is possible. I think it dyno'd 600+

Turbo 383 Stroker
That is the dream set up I would like for my 87 El Camino

Best memories I have of my misspent youth were getting my ass handed to me by a 69 Camaro with a 283 in it. My 70 1/2 Camaro probably only ran a mid 14 to begin with but this Camaro was probably high 12's. Good looking car, so crisp and revved to the moon. Those 4.56 gears didn't hurt either up against the 3.08's in mine.Laughing I'd have caught him at the 1/2 mile point ....LOL
had a real sleeper in HS.... looked almost like my current '69
- 69 rs convertible, same color and stripes, etc
But had a sweet vet motor under hood. wild cam, fat carb & 456's and a bra
(would smoke the tires all time, cops would come---- I'd creep away--- and they always pull over the primer cars) Cool

now I just run my '69 Z-RS, w/ chev off road solid cam, 411's, & orig manifolds & smog equip--- runs good!

Trying to get leads on the LQ4. I see one on my Craigslist for $2K. Sheeit. The pick and pull near my place asks $200 for any engine with a $20 core. Got my name on their call list for certain models to see if I can score a 6.0. Lots of 5.7's and 5.3's available.
