whats crazy is at least in are area you can get kawis cheap, not sure why this is or if they don't hold value well but the other day I saw a new 13 450 for 5800otd. seems like no deals no matter where you go on suzukis and the Hondas are right in between but seems like they hold value well even after being sold used. I bought my 12 crf450 in feb of 12 for 7200otd and sold it for 6500 used the following march with 47 hrs on it

Thanks, I will pass the word on the pipe sale. With the remap and pipe, did you notice a big difference. Had a buddy do the same with race fuel and geared 13/51, he says its a whole new bike. And that's a good thing. His dual was the FMF system

Helped with top end but took away from bottom. Im going to remap my bike to see if its the mapping. I used that gearing in 2008 but since then the 09 to 12 bikes I didnt like that gearing. I think the problem I'm having is the tokyo mods mapping more then pipe. But my plan is single Dr D and mapping from alocal guy in Norcal.

Funny.

Take the Best Qualities of BOTH bikes & you get an RMZ.
Zook has no where near the power of a KX
Lets be honest...who here needs the fastest/most powerful 450 to ride their best? Probably approximately 0% of the riders here. Any 450 motor in an awesome chassis/suspension would get most people around the track better.

Most of the info here is dumb. Ride both bikes and see what you like. There are no bad or better 450. You have to decide what bike fits you the best. If your a bigger guy the Kawi will be your choice, the Honda ergonomics seem to fit smaller guys better.

I picked up a new 13 kx450, (coming off an 09 rmz450) and wow, the kx feels lighter, turns just as good, and half throttle feels like full throttle on the zook. I've got a friend with a 13 Honda,10 hours, gas in crankcase, they all have issues. Honda, your gonna spend a grand just to match the kawi.
my 09 gets gas in the crank case. I learned to store it on top dead center. Issue solved.

I know this guy...pretty fast. He's ridden EVERYTHING over the years...

Lately, he and a pal of his have been riding the 13/14 KXF450 with "different than stock" Suspension...some funky Gold Stuff that they seem to think is the solution to the Air-Fork. I get the feeling they run the "matching" shock, too. Pretty sure they hate the air-fork.

They've done some PC work to the motors with PC pipes and billet goodies, too. Kinda think they're running more White Plastic than most Kawi-riders, too. They have their reasons; but, I think they just want to be different. One of'em has a shit-load of time on KXFs and REALLY knows how to make things work. Between the two of'em I'm thinking that they've raced and ridden enough bikes over the years and the fact that they CHOSE the KXF is a pretty huge statement.

Ya know what?

I'm gonna go build me a White KXF!

Bought a 13 KX450. Far and wide the best bike I've ever ridden. Not that I've ridden a whole lot of 450s or anything.

The fork feels pretty weird, but not that bad. I'm not really worried about reliability stuff, I've rebuilt a lot of motors and basically look forward to that shit.

Btw I'm a complete monster of a human at 5'11 170 pounds. I think that the kx just fits big guys a lot better. Really the only bike I've ridden that I feel comfortable with ergonomically. Honda's feel really small.
