Sweet game. I've done no exploring yet as I've gotten so sucked in to the story that I just go from mission to mission.
Certainly the best GTA ever imo. I think the strongest most surprising thing for me with this one, is that this GTA title has finally made me care somewhat about the story and playable characters. Even Trevor (maybe especially Trevor - the dude is too horrendous and funny all in one). The ability to switch between the three, experience parts of their lives (good or bad) and then work together as a team; makes them feel far more like real (within the confines of the GTA universe) fleshed out individuals, rather than just random people you might meet on a mission etc.
EDIT: Any way to delete contacts in your phone? Got some triflin' ass bitches who are always "busy" that are cluttering up my contacts list.

also, everyone is saying it's easier to get away from the cops, but i think it's a lot harder. i'll get completely out of sight and hide under an overpass or behind some building, wait a couple minutes and some trick-ass mother fucker comes and sniffs me out and then gets popped in the face of course.
i spent like 5 minutes stealing a few cars, setting up a big ass traffic jam, then walked down the middle of cars pouring gas on the ground in a big trail, complete with a bunch of sticky grenades on some of the cars... the explosion was fucking massive and epic, so awesome!
Hahahahaha....... The game just doesn't stop delivering!
Awesome isn't even a good enough description!!!
And lots of good tips here... http://www.gamingreality.com/2013/09/gta-v-tips-hints-and-tricks.html

here's some of my stats... kinda funny how i play into their personalities
Michael - 10 hrs - 250 kills
Franklin - 8 hrs - 200 kills
Trevor - 9.5 hours - 700+ kills (i shoot everyone that says something to Trevor, he's an absolute fucking terror)
i also bought the LSCustoms up in Blaine County, get free car upgrades with Franklin, and spent a couple hours fully upgrading a ton of cars to store in my garages. my suv is fully armored and bulletproof tires... drove around with 4 stars for about 10 minutes haha
On top of the one of the hospitals is a helicopter landing pad with two choppers. Steal them with Trevor and you can park them at his helipad in the desert and they're there when you wanna use them. I landed it on one of the taller buildings and sniped from up there. Street cops couldn't get to me(no ladders), only had to deal with the police helicopters. Sat up there for about an hour just blasting people. Worked my way up to 5 stars.
SIDE NOTE: Anyone had any of their cars disappear? I had a tricked out 2014 Corvette for Michael and the damn thing just disappeared? I also had another car(looked like a Viper) that I backed out of his garage and parked on the other side of the house so I could park the Hummer in there and went back to the other side to get in it and it was gone?? WTF?
regarding losing cars, don't park them in your free garages... you need to purchase the garages and you can store more cars and you won't lose them.
Speaking of sniping from buildings, I went to the top of the one thats under construction with a fully equipped arsenal, got all 5 stars on me and could just hid under the construction. Then Id pop back out and snipe the helicopter pilots. I thought the army or swat would zip line down and get me but they never did and eventually all the stars disappeared.
Anyone tried online?? I tried it yesterday and HOLY SHIT! In order to pick what your character looks like, you pick your grandparents on your mother's side(both her mother and father) and the grandparents on your father's side(both of his) then you have a bar to select how much your mother favors each of her two parents, same for your father. Once you end up with how each parent looks, you select how much you favor each of them to determine what you look like.
Didn't get to actually play online, I tried to just jump in(I guess it would be a public room?) and it said it couldn't create a session. Didn't try creating a private session, but I have been getting notifications of people on my friends list creating crews. Didn't have much time to play yesterday, gonna try to figure the online deal out more today.
just gonna say though that i'm getting tired of the tiny aiming reticle. last night i tried the same god damn mission over and over, you have to chase someone down in your car and the only way to stop them is to shoot from your moving car and take them out, but the problem is i can't see the fucking reticle so i'm just spraying everywhere and i ended up getting killed 4 times. i finally just started using my sawn-off and getting as close as i could. just frustrating.
my only other beef is with the swimming controls. hard to explain but i was trying to pick up some submarine parts and kept doing circles little bursts of speed while trying to swim would put me 20 feet from my target, then i had to try to spin around and get back and did it over and over... and fuck if i wasn't getting pissed.
other than that i'm still under the belief that this is the best game of this generation of consoles. just wish they would do something about the reticle... why put a scope on my AR if i can't see where the damn reticle is even at?
as for popping off random pedestrians, my favorite is to just single shot with a pistol. awesome.
also, one more thing, the NPC's in this game have some serious road rage issues and it's fucking hilarious to cause them to rage. i'll arm my fist while driving, hold LB while aiming at a car and my guy will flip them off. sometimes you have to ram their car a couple times, and flip them off, and then they just completely lose it haha! i have got multiple buses to just mow through pedestrians and traffic. yesterday i raged a car into ramming an Ambulance... the paramedics jumped out, pulled the woman from the car and beat her to death. then they just jumped into the ambulance and went on like it never happened. awesome
I also agree about the swimming. Same thing happens whenever I try to fly a helicopter and I have to hover over something. I start getting fucking pissed and to make matters worse I got Trevor or Lester yelling in my fucking ear because I'm not doing it right. Pricks.
yeah, i get the combat shooting... it works ok the way you're saying. but driving and shooting is the worst. the reticle needs to be fixed. so many great 3rd person games out there that nail it, even Red Dead Redemption had a great reticle. not sure why they went the direction they did with that
Pit Row
also, looked up the reticle issue and found that you can go into the pause options and select combat reticle, puts a circle around the center reticle... not sure if it makes it easier to see as i haven't played since i got that tip. also, from what people are saying, the smaller the tv the easier to see the reticle... makes no sense to me though
I did the gold heist last night, too, AKA "The Big One." Went pretty smooth all things considered, and after that I took Franklin back to his house and had a guest show up at my door for what is apparently the final mission. I won't ruin it, but what did everyone choose? A, B, or C? I chose C and I'm thinking it may be a mistake, but I just couldn't bring myself to do A or B.
Also played some more online, this time with people on my friends list and it's pretty badass playing it that way. You actually get to accomplish some stuff and get cash, as opposed to the "free-for-all" that is the public room. The one mission where half the players are runners and half are hunters is pretty fun. Half the guys get cars or planes and have to reach a destination before the hunters get them. Hunters get military Jeeps or fighter jets to chase them with. We played that repeatedly for nearly an hour.
1 - i thought the Big Heist was the weakest mission in the game, pretty uneventful because i did the subtle approach (going to replay that mission and see if i can do it the aggressive approach)
2 - i too took ending "C". i just couldn't fathom ending the game any other way. the final ending (basically the entire time after the Devin visit at Franklin's house) was pretty awesome and i liked how it went to credits, i thought it was a great way to end it. i wish they would have had more missions like it, switching between characters and doing major storyline stuff all in the same mission.
3 - after the ending, i started buying everything, but the places you buy don't generate enough cash to justify it.
4 - also after the ending, i replayed the other two options of the final game... i'm glad i ended it the way i did. not sure if anyone else has done the two other endings, but i'll just say i found them both a bit disturbing in their nature. i kinda wish i hadn't done them and that Rockstar wouldn't have even included them.
I'll be getting my Xbox live back on in another week or 2. ShesAfreak is my gamertag if anyone wants to go on a rampage together.
try hitting Start, go into options, and change the reticle to "Combat". makes a HUGE difference
