I was feeding my dog Avoderm since he was a pup but now i cant find it anywhere so i switched to Blue Wilderness , now he has dry skin and his farts smell so bad ,he could knock a buzzard of a shit wagon. Im half way through his second bag and i want to find something to start mixing in before a complete transaction , ive been searching the internet but can't decide and figured i would ask around a bit.

Thanks

Chicken and Brown rice. When we got our used dog he was small and spindly and didn't have much of an appetite. We started feeding him chicken and brown rice and he has put on 2 pounds of muscle. He went from 12 to 14 pounds so it was significant. Oh and he has an appetite now.

Ill try and talk to my mom tonight, she is the dog expert of the family and has tried all sorts of stuff as far as food, hell she feeds them better than she does herself!

Pretty sure she does just dry now but adds stuff to it, even veggies and some sorta powder stuff for their coat.

"farts smell so bad ,he could knock a buzzard of a shit wagon."

Us humans are instructed to eat food that is in it's most natural state for the best health and performance. Dogs on the other hand are said to do best on food that is unnatural and processed, but is sold as the most "real". Weird huh? To each his own as owner sees fit.

I use the Purina healthy crap or that beneficial wieght formula or whatever it's called, I been wondering if Im a bad dog owner because I don't buy that crazy expensive shit, I know it's not the best but I guess it's better that Ole Roy crap. Every once in a blue moon I give her a small can of cat food, because she looks so sad if the cat gets it and she don't. Im curious about what other dogs eat, let us know what your Maw says Scottie. My Mom gives hers carrots, one is a three legged mutt, both little pound dogs but they live like kings man. she puts towels down out side for them to lay on, lol.

I was making the dog chicken and rice the other night and it just so happened that we also had chicken and rice and I was still a little hungry so I ate some of the dogs food. Bad parent, bad parent.

I will get a picture of her, she hops on the one front leg while walking but let her open it up and she is as fast as any at full speed! She was found out by this prison called red eagle honor farm they think an animal got hold of her. Then at my Aunts another dog jumped her and punctured her lung where her leg was missing. My Uncle was a fireman so he put some sort of pressure hold on the hole while they rushed her to the vet and saved her. Kind of cool story. Dog went from being half dead by the prison with no owner to laying on a towel on the porch over looking the pond while being fed treats, I am a bit jealous, if my Maw and her husband are away over 3 or 4 hours they freak out and have to check on the dogs! Of course I start freaking out after 8 hours with mine because I know she's hungry.

The Blue Wilderness was no good for the wife's Yorkie. Same thing happened to him, along with bad breath. Little mfers mouth smelled worse than his ass. He had been eating Blue Buffalo since he was a pup and she picked up the wrong bag by mistake (she's blonde like that). Once he switched back to Blue Buffalo the farts and bad breath went away. I guess certain foods just don't agree with him.

Yes ,Rupert has had bad breath lately too and tons of shedding , im not sure if the shedding is because spring is coming or from the food , he was a puppy last year at this time so i cant tell.

I had a similar problem with my 13 yr old big sweetie and switched to a brand the local feed lot guy recommended. It is called "Loyale, Adult Maintenance" his farts stopped, and it seemed to have helped him with his other digestive issues. The feed lot guy mentioned something about it being processed differently and easier for them to digest.

A 40 lb bag is about $35 or so around here.

Try the Dick Van Pattons, Natural Balance , Duck & potato or Salmon based diet. Also give it the omega 3 fish oil pills for better skin.

I have a 5 month old English bulldog and the breeder had her on some iiams crap that made her have bad bad gas her skin was all oily and smelled bad. I switched her over to the taste of the wild salmon blend and the farts were gone. Her skin isn't smelly and oily anymore and has a great shine. She has normal solid bawls now. I recommend it from experience. When she has an upset stomach I give her yummy tummy all natural pumpkin about two spoons full and she loves it and settles the stomach. Sorry my wife freaks out sometimes and just wants best for our dog.

I used you get freaked out by the price of the better dog foods as well, but look at it this way: if you are anything like me your dog is a part of your family and deserves the best you can provide. If a $50, 20lb bag of dog food lasts a month or more thats pretty cheap to feed one family member no? Smile

He is a black and tan coon hound with a splash of beagle and Shepard, we got him from the rescue as a puppy so the Sheppard part is unconfirmed.

I was OK with paying 50 bucks for a bag of food, we just can't deal with his gas . On the average he'll crop dust a room 4-5 times a day .

Whats all this 'dog food' with veggies, gravy, potatoes and bullshit like that? Dogs dont garden or farm, they are carnivores and hunt in packs and kill shit and eat it. Give them meat with the bones and skin/hair on it, thats all they need, period.. Pop a squirrel in the park every day or so with your .22 and your pooch will be good as Nature ever wanted him to be.

Youre welcome.

How does more money mean it's the best? Most likely it is, but i ain't deciding until I hear from OC's Mom.

My cat sleeping on SweetPea's head.

Sad dog needs belly rub.

SweetPea loves the Gravy train! i doubt she would eat raw squirrel, she just licked this one like she was trying to wake it up.

Every single time I try to give my dog something other than meat he looks at me with the "Fuck you, I only eat meat." look.

Here he is on his first trip to Home Depot. He was formerly a combat dog in Iraq but was too vicious.

Digger and Sage eat meat of some kind almost everyday. I always freeze a bunch of scrap during butchering to give them as treats in the winter.

One day they drug home a rear hind quarter of a deer.
