What the fuck does a picture of a law abiding person have to do with shooting classmates?
He wasn't threatening anyone.

It's common ,I have plenty of photos of myself holding firearms when I was younger.
No reason for the police to raid a home.

If the kid was making active threats that would be a different story.

let's see, his Dad took and posted the picture, the kid has had training and it's a 22. Also they tried to raid the house without a search warrant, unreal stupid.

Moore, of Carneys Point, is a certified firearms instructor for the National Rifle Association, an NRA range safety officer and a New Jersey hunter education instructor.
He recently posted a photograph of his son wearing camouflage and holding his new .22 rifle. The child has a New Jersey hunting license and recently passed the state’s hunter safety course.

It doesn't get anymore stupid.

I can clearly understand why they reacted the way they reacted. Nobody wants to take chances after 20 kids been slayed. What if something happens and they got that tip on their hotline. There would be hell to pay afterwards. It`s better safe than sorry.

So you are saying by a kid having a gun and his father posting a picture of it that is a threat?
Justifying a home to be raided just off a tip and no threatening activity?
That's insane.
Should we go and raid the homes of all these people with youtube vids and family homes of the people that post pictures of their kids holding & firing weapons?

You know, I could see if the kid was making threats or posted it on his own facebook page with some type of aggressive comment.I could see him getting a visit from the men in blue out of concern.
But a father posting the photo,no threats ect....that's just crazy.

No!!!They had a call on a specific family. Do you wan`t them to ignore it? It`s their job to check it out. What if they ignored it and something happens? I could see your point if they picked some random photo from facebook, but here they had a call on a specific photo and they went to check it out.

I think who ever made the call should be put in prison.

And yes police ignore dumb shit all the time....

Unless something was said that was threatening,no reason to bother the family by raiding them.

Someone could sit there all day and call on people with vids & photos, that was my point.
Most agencies would ignore it to a certain degree or handle it differently because they know better.

Nothing in that photo suggests he is going to break any laws or harm anyone.

On top of everything else, I bet it ruined the kids birthday or something! He was stoked to get the 22 and some idiot turns it into a police raid.

Their job isnt to harass innocent people & families.
Especially because some piece of shit has an agenda to harass a family by sending the police.
They should know better.

It`s easy to throw around amendment rights when it`s false call. What if it wasn`t?

When what is false? A kid holding a gun in a photo taken by his father & posted by his father?
NOTHING ILLEGAL THERE!

A dumbass caller calling in saying I seen a picture of a kid with a gun his dad posted and I'm concerned?
That doesnt justify it for me.
There are millions of those type of pictures on the internet.
People post them every day. No big deal.
Well until some loony wants to harass them.

First off the call wasnt made to the police.
It was made to the NJ Child Welfare department.
It's an anonymous line, also anybody can call it and make up stupid stuff.
If it would have been anything threatening the welfare department would have told them to hang up and call 911/police.
The only possible way that they could have got the police involved is by saying they seen the photo and they were concerned about the child's safety because they seen the photo of him holding a gun.
What the welfare department does is check up on child abuse cases & unfit homes ect..
It was clearly done to harass the family when no laws were being broken what-so-ever.
A simple visit from a plain clothes child services agent would have went over much smoother....Then a full on raid. Wink

Yeah, nothing bad ever happens in LatviaWhistling

In Latvia the Holocaust started on the night of June 23 to June 24, 1941, when in the Grobiņa cemetery SD murderers killed six local Jews, including the town chemist.[3] On the following days 35 Jews were exterminated in Durbe, Priekule and Asīte. On June 29 the Nazi invaders started forming the first Latvian SD auxiliary unit in Jelgava. Mārtiņš Vagulāns, member of the Pērkonkrusts organisation, was chosen to head it. In the summer of 1941, 300 men in the unit took part in the extermination of about 2000 Jews in Jelgava and other places in Zemgale.[4] The killing was supervised by the officers of the German SD Rudolf Batz and Alfred Becu, who involved the SS people of the Einsatzgruppe in the action. The main Jelgava Synagogue was burnt down through their joint effort. After the invasion of Riga, Walter Stahlecker, assisted by the members of Pērkonkrusts and other local collaborationists, organised the pogrom of Jews in the capital of Latvia. Viktors Arājs, aged 31 at the time, former member of Pērkonkrusts and a member of a student fraternity, was appointed direct executor of the action. He was an idle eternal student who was supported by his wife, a rich shop owner, who was ten years older than he was. Arājs had worked in the Latvian Police for a certain period of time.[5] He stood out with his power-hungry and extreme thinking. The man was well fed, well dressed, and "with his student's hat proudly cocked on one ear".

You do understand that you`re talking about WW2, right? Stalin sentenced to death 10% of latvian population in one single night.

Those agents check out tips all the time and they damn well know a lot of them are bullshit from the start.
People exploit these services to fuck with other people often.....or neighbors they dont like.
We have laws against that sorta stuff.

You do understand we are country of 2 million between Russia and Germany? Front line went over Latvia twice. A lot of Latvians thought that germans were less evil than russians. Russians came in and raped, slaughtered and looted village by village. A lot of history tells that german solders were a lot more civilized than russians. Small country like us never had a chance.

Heh heh, this thread made me laugh. Was there a warrant? So we're just supposed to give up the 4th amendment along with the 2nd amendment. Let's just give them all up and pretend we're living in Latvia. Smile
