WTB: Built 250f race bike w/EFI needed (IL) can travel..

Edited Date/Time 3/13/2013 5:45pm
Hey all I'm new here, but not really to the sport. Anyways..

I'm currently looking for a low hour race bike that has been maticulously maintained and serviced.

I'm planning on buying a 13 and doing this myself but I'd like to see what's out there before I go that route.

Must haves:
Brand/year is irrelevant AS LONG AS IT HAS EFI

TITLE for the bike

Built motor- by a COMPANY/SHOP & must have receipts

No rust on the bike anywhere

The bike must need absolutely nothing, and be considered "race ready"

No 450s, 2 smokes(I still love em though!!) or bikes that don't fit the above criteria please guys!

I'm in IL and can travel to surrounding states for the right bike/deal. Not looking to lowball or kick tires. This ad is 100% serious and I will have it taken down once I find a bike. This bike is being purchased ASAP to get it dialed in for the new rider and used for an LLQ, so if you're serious.. We are too!

Reply to this thread or PM me with any info & thanks in advance guys and gals!

I saw a full 11/10 mods bike on here not to long ago. Either here or at Thumpertalk in the crf section. It was built to the max and in immaculate condition. I will see if I can track it down for you buddy! Would like to see what you come up with. Also I know a guy that can get x pro circuit race bikes over on thumpertalk. PM me and I can put you in touch with him!

Also go to Minneapolis craigslist and search kx 250F. I buddy has a pro circuit built 250f for sale. Clamps, the pc version of a b kit suspension setup, pc motor, some other goodies. He has qualified for a few pro nationals on it. Didnt run it much in 2012 as he rode a 450 and was gone traveling to the nationals all summer. Only problem is I think it is a 2011 but its the same bike as the 12 pretty much.... Let me know if your interested in that also as I can maybe pull some strings for you. But either way I will do what I can to help a guy out!

Is it the #975 in Ham Lake? Yup, that's pretty much what I'm lookin for! I'm for sure going to keep this one in mind, and see what else pops up for me over the next week or 2. My good ole sprinter just took a dump on me tonight on the way home from my buddy's place. So I need to fix her or replace her first now. At least it happened locally this time ha!

As far as my budget, and how far I'll travel(after my van situation).. I'd like to keep this bike under $6500 if possible. Not to say I'd give that for any bike offered but also not to say I don't have means to more funds in the case of something truly special!

And for distance, it depends entirely on the machine. I've driven to New York (from Chicago) straight there and straight back with a buddy for just the engine to a 1987 TECATE Wink . Nothing extremely cross country but if it's a state or 2 or 3 over I'm game if it's truly worth it and nothing closer/better rises to the surface first.

SORRY THIS IS HUGE GUYS THANKS ALREADY!!

That will probably take the 11/10 mods bike out your options then. I believe they were like 10-12 grand full mod race bikes.but my buddys rmz are 2011 rmz s fully built. He was a rockstar suzuki rider. If you want info shoot me a email Wgoske@yahoo.com.

i would consider selling one of my race bikes after this season so i know it would be a wait. it isnt efi but there is no better bike on the market that you could buy it is a star racing yamaha 2012 kyb A kit suspenion would sell with either air forks or traditional A kit forks. The closest thing you can get to a factory motor everything was redone has a different transmition in it with differen gear ratios 2nd and 3rd are alot longer then normal. spec PC pipe i still have one prototype tire. every goodie you could imagine on a bike is on it. but i also would be for 6500

I will def. keep that one in mind mxb2.. I'm sure this thread is how I'm going to find the bike im searching for. I love the thought of an rmz, that and a kawi are my top 2 preferences.. I think!

I've had terrible luck with yamaha's, won't even buy their outboard motors any more..or musical instruments.. Haha Sorry yamahamark22 Sad currently have a yamaha warrior 350 atv and it makes me want to buy a bullet and rent.. Well u no..

I commented on it the other day actually. Go take a second glance..

Like I said in my comment, I will try getting in touch with you in the next week or so once we get the new van. Need that first and then I would love to try to make something happen.. I will certainly get ahold of you soon bud!
