Back in 03 I was getting to big for my KX85 so my dad was leting me race his 00' RM125, best bike. My first race, from what they tell me because I have no memory of anything before this accident, I endo over a table top and I landed on my head and knocked myself out then someone behind my landed right on me. His read tire connected with my helmet and you could see the tire marks on it. Was out for 10 mins, got air lifted to the hospital, ended up breaking my neck, C2. In the hospital for about 3 weeks, had to wear a halo for 4 months, was in and out of the hospital about once a week, they had to change my halo about one a month, couldnt sleep the whole time I had the halo, O.D on medication because I couldnt take the pain, and turn 13 in the hospital in surgery room. But the worse thing about the whole thing is that I dont remember the helicopter ride.

O and also try sneezing with a halo on, will bring the strongest man to tears in seconds...wasnt so fun

I have three.

Back when I raced novice (XC) I got lapped and swore I would never get lapped again.

Another was my first and only DNF (knocking on wood). This was in 125 expert, it was so dusty that only one bike in my class finished.

The last was my first and only pro race where I forgot to turn my gas on.Blush
Sounds like a good idea (though if you're BS'ing it'll be a damn funny mess that gets made). Do we call it the sakana method, or does Slow-pro have a different goggle idea?

I love this thread!!! I have 2 favorites....can't decide between them:

1. Racing a national enduro in the wet....15 minutes into it I highsided going just over walking pace and bent my bars into a L shape. Lost 8 minutes trail time. After putting a fresh set of bars on, I was fastest in all the special tests but lost the event (and the title) due to the lost time.

2. Racing my 250F in the open class in '01. Managed to get into 2nd place after being about 30th off the start....then went down in a high-speed sweeper. Remounted still in 2nd place (to my knowledge) only to have the race red flagged. Turns out some clown got injured. After returning to the pits, it becomes clearer that I was the reason for the red flag. I was out of it for a whole lap.....

Haha the second one is great. Another one of mine, got the holeshot for my first time ever. Go through a couple of corners, then the next section has four small bumps. I had been doing it triple-single, but I knew the guys in others faster classes were doing all 4. So I thought I have the lead go for it, clear it with ease, and went a little to far, then couldnt make the corner. I had gone from first to last in 2 corners

My first race, and I am pretty nervous. Looped out my kx65 on the starting gate, got back up in dead last and took off... very slowly. I got lapped and on the last corner off the race I crashed again, and couldn't get my bike to start. The next class was on the line and I guess they didn't see me still on the track because they took off and passed me before I got my bike started. Thats right, I got passed by the riders in a diffrent race! I've never been more embarrassed in my life. I didn't race again for another ten years. All I can say is that I was a little kid scared shitless, thats my excuse.
