I thought vital had a classified section, I didn't see it, so if I'm in the wrong place, please feel free to move the thread.
Hey everyone, I have the ultimate moto van up for sale. I purchased it from the fellow mx'er a few years back, loved it, but am now moving on. I really don't want to sell it, because its awesome for everything, but barely use it now. A truck is fine for me nowadays so I'd like to pass it on to another mx rider.
*****I will update pics and exact mileage when I have a chance*****
The good:
right around 130k miles
1. Full welded steel wall reinforced where motorcycle wheels hit and cabinets hang.
2. Full folding sleeping rear seat with enclosed steel framed lighted under storage.
3. Recessed wall reading light.
4. Two Optima Blue Top Gel Cell auxiliary batteries.
5. Built in large inverter. (big enough to run the refrigerator and microwave)
6. Refrigerator (sits between front seats). ---I never got the fridge from the original owners, they may or may not still have it, and I'm sure they'll happily pass it your way if they do.
7. Built in overhead storage above couch and in rear above bikes.
8. High output 12 volt air compressor 125psi. (large enough to air up van tires)
9. Built in wheel well storage. (all steel welded construction)
10. Welded bike tie down hooks.
11. Two high output 12 volt fluorescent lights in rear.
12. Key activated solenoid switch for batteries. (will not draw down cranking battery when key is in the off position, but charges auxiliary batteries when van is running)
13. All walls insulated with R13 insulation.
14. All walls and ceilings covered in carpet (very quiet).
15. Set up to haul 3 bikes
It is a 2002 with a 5.7 V8 engine, A/C, PW, PDL, PS, AM/FM, CD, MP3 stereo with a nice amp and speakers and alarm system. It has limo tint on the back windows so people can't see your gear and mild tint on the front door windows.
Just had the entire fuel injection system replaced a few thousand miles ago. Apparently older chevy's have a problem with clogging injectors. The entire system was replaced with a brand new updated oem set up to prevent clogging.
When the fuel injection system clogged, one of the cats got ruined, I will replace before sale or we can work something out.
Also have a cruise control set up that was never installed.
The not so good:
The check engine light is one for the gas sensor (apparently also a fairly common problem among older chevy's). The gas gauge works partially, it will only move to about 3/4 full when you fill the tank up. It just doesn't read when you get down low. As long as you pay attention your fine. When you come to pick it up we can head down to my mechanic and he can show you the scan code for the check engine light is only the problem with the gas sensor. I want to be honest with anyone interested and don't want to just reset it and sell it so somebody gets it and the ce light comes on a few days later. My mechanic is also a local mx rider, many of you may know his son Justin, from definition films.
The paint is peeling in a few spots
The alarm works, but the lock actuation motors have failed. They have a lifetime warranty I just always locked it by hand and armed the alarm, so I'm sure you can get them replaced.
The van has been absolutely great for me and I would like to pass it on to another MX rider. I'm looking for 6,000. This is the ultimate moto van that is set up absolutely perfectly, ready to go. if you don't like my price please keep your comments to yourself. With all of the upgrades, plus the already replaced injection system, I feel this is fair
price. It is best to shoot me an email at tpersons311(at)gmail.com Thanks Tyler. Located in northern CA, sonoma county.
