First, let me introduce myself..I grew up in the '80 and since the age of 5 in 1983 I have owned a variety of motorcycles/atvs ranging from a classic 1973 Honda XR75 to a 1995 Husqvarna 250CR; atvs from a 1987 Kawasaki Tecate-4 to a 1987 Suzuki Quadracer 500; and street bikes from a 1987 Yamaha FZ600 to a Aprilia RSV-R.
Currently I own a 2008 Honda TRX700XX four-wheeler which I try to ride at least once a month. My other bike is a 1987 Honda CR500R, which leads me to my current project.....
I am in the process of a complete retro-mod of my 1987 CR500R. This will be a ground-up renovation project with the only OEM parts being the frame, engine, carbs and electronics. Most of the rest of the bike will be built with 2012 CRF450 parts including forks, swing-arm, shock and brakes. My to-do and to-buy list is massive, but when done, I envision of a bike that is one of a kind. For me it was love at first sight when I saw the 1987 CRs....and I am looking at this as a 25th anniversary (1987-2012) of this iconic bike.
In order to fund this project I am selling off many OEM 1987 CR500 OEM parts with no reserve on e-bay. Current parts listed on e-bay:
- Forks
- Front brake (rotor not on e-bay but could be included)
- Triples with bar claims
- Radiators
If you are interested in a particular 1987 CR500 part and wondering if I am getting rid of it, drop me a PM. Here is the e-bay link:
