ALL RACE 50's SUCK!!!! Thats where the whole minidad thing starts! Day before a big race they run fine in practice, Race day they run like shit just to piss you off! Very temperamental beast mind of there own. To do it over I would skip the 50's!!!
your kid must have rode a ktm huh? when we raced ktms the maintanance was unreal. pull the entire cltch each day , clean washers, check stack height etc. when we switched to the cobras all i did was change the oil frequently and the bike ran flawless.racing the 50s gives them confidence and ability needed before the switch to the 65 i believe to do things and learn the fundamentals. that way when they learn about shifting and all the other things associated with a clutch they are just learning that, not everything

Hard to put a 4 yr old on a 65. You have to admit, after pulling clutches, stacking washers, doing it multiple times to get the "hit" right, changing oil every 15 minutes, it was worth it, right?

You forgot the staters and the family therapy!!!! Yeah its hard to put a 4 year old on a 60!
Stators, that word sucks. After you did all the above and the little bitch quits in practice on race day and you put your spare stator (at $85 a pop) in the night before.

If your racing and want a chance at winning you better look hard into Cobra's.

We had a couple a few years back (2001) and had zero problems with either one. Never replaced a stator in 2 years. Piston/rings and one water pump kit is all I ever changed.

No clutch problems either.

Little beasts just ran and I know we was lucky, cause I know several others that could change stators in their sleep.

Love 'em or hate 'em..and they are cobby little high maintenance bikes but if you want to win...one choice...cobra.

No problems with parts...call cobra and parts are at your door...although dealers in my area are hard to find.

Let's hope Husky's 50 is better than their O-5's.

What a piece of crap. I'll never forget the kick starter flying off at the gate.

It's a cool looking bike, but look closely. Everything held together with cir-clips.

I'd never buy another one.

Husqvarna used the franco morini (s6c) liquid cooled 13 hp engine on the 03 husky cr50. Its an itallian made motor since the 60's, used also in mopeds & adult flat track & motard. Far from knock offs or junk. Very fast powerful & tuff motors. In my opinion the 03 husky is the meanest 50 ive ever rode
