People used Rotella because of the high Zinc content.
EPA put a stop to Zinc in oil for cars and trucks because its bad for the Catalyst.
Lots of Zinc in JGR racing oil.

KTM recommends 10/50 Motorex. Thats what we use in the shop but any good 10/50 synthetic motorcycle oil will work. Used to hear alot about Rotella with the RFS engines but not so much anymore. Bikes come with break in oil and KTM is pretty anal about breaking it in with that oil and draining it after one hour.

The Rotella rumor was true but shell changed the formula of the rotella a while back, would not run this any more, any good
10/50 synthetic will do just fine.

I have been using Lucas in my 350 since new. I am not really sure if it is the oil or not, but when I first start it up the back wheel will just spin on the stand, then when I put in gear to take off for the first time it will stall. After it warms up it is good. I am going to try a different oil to see if that is what the problem is.

My 250f 2010 does the same thing with Rotella. I just take off in second until it is warmed up.

what weight oil are you using in yours? I am using the 15/50 now, maybe a 10/40 will help with that then. I was going to try Rotella but I guess you answered that for me Wink
