I agree but I don't think it's a logical thing. The weight of this potential championship must be incredible, he's probably riding a little tight thinking about it all the time - don't crash out, don't dnf, just another few motos and I'm there etc.

The old adage of riding your own race and taking it moto by moto is exactly what he needs to do but of course that's easier said than done. Still, to be fair he wasn't horrendous - it's not like he's completely out of touch. But he does need to pick it up better than 4th. Maybe Mitch can get him to relax a little between motos (if that is indeed an issue).

He was 3rd in moto one so he needs Grant to somehow hold back Dungey to get an overall.

Well Dungey is around Grant according to timing. 20 minutes to make up a 7 sec gap to the 800.

really?? Rattray's best was 2.39, Dungey's last was like 2.37
