The weather has been bad here but I was finally able to work on it again over the weekend. I tried to put the carb off of my 05 YZ250 on it but the electrical is different. I did not want to swap out the electrical so I decided to try my float and float valve (needle as some refer to it) in the RM carb. It made no difference. We put it back together as it was and I decided to ride it again. I rode it for a while and rode it pretty hard on a circle track where I was able to run it wide open second through fourth repetively. I was just enjoying the ride. I have ridden it the same way before but after that it seems to be running great. I have no explanation for it, but hopefully it continues to act right. I can now take a slow lap or two (idling) without it loading up. Before, after a halp lap idling, it would take a whole straight away for it to get blown out. Thanks for all the help! Hopefully this is the last you will hear from me about this issue. Don't worry though, I have others!

Just in case you are still working on your bike. I had one and spent quite a long time working on the jetting. I'm in So Cal.
Slide 6.5 (std)
Needle N2ZJ in the #3 position
Main Jet 172
Pilot Jet 45
Power Jet 50
Air Screw 2.0
The bike also likes arace gas so I used to mix about 20-30% race gas to pump.

I screwed around with jetting, tried the Pro circuit jetting specs but wouldn't clean up in bottom to mid range. Finally went to a 42 pilot and upped the main from a 165 to 168. Also have the 7.0 slide, but it didn't make much difference. Stock needle in the top clip. I am trying a leaner needle, since I think that is the way to go to clean it up rather than the 42 pilot.
