Will Bubba run the 259 this summer? DC hinted at it on the PulpMX show last week. I hadn't seen it mentioned, and I was feeling left out since I hadn't started at thread about Stewart. It will be cool if he does.

If they wouldn't let Tyler Bowers run 911 why would they let Stewart switch to 259?

However the rules do not apply evenly to the elite vs. the rest of the field.

This new numbering system is stupid. You shouldn't be forced to use a number, and if you earn a career number you should be able to pick a 3 digit one if you want to.

Not sure, but I know MX and SX don't always follow the same rules. Class names are one example of this.

is tyler bowers a past sx or mx champion? dont think so. if bubba wants to change his career number that he earned, whats the problem? of course someone would make stink over nothing on vital.

The new rule this year is that your career number can't be a 3 digit number. Guys like Alessi are grandfathered in.

Everyone knows if he ran the 259 he would go 24-0. Since it wouldn't be fair he has to run the number 7!

It's simple, you see a big ole # 7 on any bike who is that??? James Stewart!

Also, if you see a big ole # 259 on any bike who is that? James Stewart!

BUT, you are not the reason the rule is in place.

The general populace, less extreme fans, who casually sit down to watch MX/SX advertising, errrr... racing
are the reason.

Most of them wouldn't know who the fokkk 259 was... much less his 125 dominance/history.

They wanted permanent numbers so each rider was easily identifiable, to "not so core" moto fans, so to speak.

Your shit's tiring... with that being said:

James went 24-0 ONLY cause Ricky Carmichael, The GOAT(GREATEST of all TIME) retired. Otherwise, 2008
for James Stewart would have just been another mediocre, or less(0-24), season.

And that's the TRUTH!

Bowers is an AX champ which is an AMA pro series, I would think the rules would still apply. Just thinking out loud, not that I care that much.
