I recently acquired a WASR AK-47. I don't have any need/use for the gun and have considered selling it, but the values I have seen on line are all over the place. Does anyone have a good idea what it is worth. It appears to be in pretty good condition.

You have to either price it for your local market or go "Full-Craigs-list" and market it to a certian, and legal, market where it has a higher value...outta-state, etc.

Good luck.

And if you haven't already made that special list, if you sell it online, you surely will.

Never sell or buy a gun, or ammo on line.

thats being paranoid. when "that time" comes, they will assume everyone owns guns and ammo. i know people that dont want to get a CCW because "then the gov't knows you have guns". silly IMO.
that list is LARGE dude, they arent doing anything about it.

I have a friend who spent two years working for an IT department for the FBI.

Selling or buying guns, or ammo on line is not a good deal.

Their computers are set up to notify if someone is dealing with guns or ammo on line.

Your implied effort to simply "stay off the radar" wasn't understood; also, for those of us w/ CCWs it's far too late.

I agree, but if you are buying large amounts of ammo, or assault guns of any type, the internet is not to place to conduct this business.

Yep, gun shows are the place to do that, and there is usually one around here somewhere every weekend.

Funny you mention that, my little bro got a job here at our local Marine Recruiting office, he was messing around at work on his laptop and searched for "silencers" and about 30min later his phone rang and all he heard was "STEWART GET IN HERE" The Sarg asks him wtf he is doing looking up silencers? (he was on the offices WiFi) He got a little ass chewing then before he left the office Sarg says, "btw if you want to know anything about silencers just go talk to (some dude there)"

Pretty funny shit, i can only imagine the look on his face.

Yes. Here in Texas, private transfers are legal. Since you're looking for an AR, you could take the AK with you to a show and trade it in there. Keep in mind, you will probably get a better deal selling it to an individual and then go buy your AR. If you do go to a show, make sure the gun is unloaded before walking in with it. The cops at the front door will check it to verify it's unloaded and will put a tywrap through the chamber and out the magazine well which you will have to leave in while in the show. A lot of folks sell guns this way. If you can't get a good deal from a dealer, generally, someone walking around will buy it off of you. Sent you a PM with my info.
